Oh ye of little faith... (myself included)... Mr. Volstad is correct as usual, and the mold cutters at DML were, well..., almost correct.

The rifles are indeed the Mauser versions of the rare as unicorns G41. Below is a pic comparing the two variants (Mauser on top and Walther below) clearly showing the differences in the bolt handles (both shape and placement). (Photo credit should go to diggerhistory.com)

One might quibble and note that the boxtop illustration correctly shows the bolt handle at the rear of the receiver and that the photo of the assembled figgies shows that DML cut the handles forward of the trigger guard. However, what is clear that the rifles are G41(M)'s.

Mr. Volstad and DML have both lived up to their reputations.
