helmets look like the US M1 helmet liner but they're not - they were a one-piece type (i.e. no inner and outer shell) made of a fiberglass-type material with a thin canvas harness inside. wouldn't fancy my chances against a bullet/shrapnel in one! i had one once - bought in the late '90s - must have sold it though.
