Q about travel uniforms.

I am aware that in the Vietnam days, there were regs stating that Class A's or 1's were to be worn when touching down in the States, what applies these days?

I want to do a vignette of a newly-arrived home troop and need to know if Best Dress is correct, or if Cams would be ok?

TIA

Rick

Well as I just returned

June 23 2009, 8:29 PM

I flew back wearing ACUs, and they were the same nasty funky ones I left my FOB in. We never had the time to get to our bags and put something cleaner on. So all the dust, dirt and ring around the colar was there.
I don't know of anyone that packs their Class A/Bs for deployment anymore. And I didn't see any other branch dressing up for the homecoming. I did see SF types change into civies though.

Thanks, Shawn, that's about what I figured - and welcome home.

Glad you got back safe.
Yeah, all the news footage I've seen recently shows folk offloading in cams, but 'never assume', right? Nice to get the info from One Who Knows. 8-)

Ya gotta wonder about the SF thing, though - if everyone else is in cam, and there are a few in civvies, I would have thought that would scream 'I'm Someone Special'... wouldn't changing into cams be a more sensible option? Ah, well - there's probably a perfectly valid reason...

Thanks again.

Rick

LOL

Well....
I never witnessed a single tank on the road in all my travels over the last year. So if you are asking me which looks better sitting in the motorpool? I'd say Challeenger looks good sitting still. But I'll take the Abrams.
