Hi Guys,
I want to build an Iraqi T72 reversing out of a berm to escape oncoming Coalition forces. I want to depict some Iraqi troops vacating fighting positions and running alongside the T72 to help give the scene some drama and the feeling of flight in a particular direction.
Can anyone help with pictures of Iraqi uniforms and some typical fighting positions/fox holes/bunkers?
Cheers,
Glen

...the Gulf War has good color plates of Iraqi uniforms and even a plate depicting an Iraqi position. When I was over there in '91 most of the prisoners I saw, wore uniforms similar to the older U.S. fatigues; but colored in Woodland pattern. Woodland pattern, you say? Indeed. If you're depicting Gulf War II, I'm sure others could help you. HTH, Dave

Hi David,
How you been? Thanks for the info mate, sounds interesting, these uniform types would look good running alongside a sand coloured T72. Are you talking Nam era/style fatigues?
Cheers,
Glen

Hey, Glen!

The fatigues I'm referring to are the old OD fatigues w/o the leg pockets and with the shirts that tucked into the trousers. Are you doing a Desert Storm dio? Keep us posted on your progress, buddy. Best wishes for a great week ahead. Dave

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the positive waves mate.....project started.....the T72 has had some scratch details and etch added...but lot's to do. Got a Blast turret for it. In a case of masochism am thinking of scratching the figures with resin heads.....any chance of a scan of that Osprey art you spoke of?
Thanks mate, hope you have a good one too.
Go raibh mile maith agat!

Glen, I wish I had...

...a scanner, but I don't. I can try to shoot a picture of the color plates, as time permits. Let me see what I can do a.s.a.p. In the meantime, please keep me in the loop regarding your project. It sounds interesting. How does that Blast T-72 turret look? I've heard that it more accurately portrays the shape of the real turret. Have fun with the figures. I wish I could read Celtic, so I'll just return the compliment as best as I can: Erin go bragh! (Is that how it's spelled?) Have a great weekend, buddy. Dave
No probs mate, pics are cool too, it's just an idea of the look I need.
Will try get pics tomorrow of what little I done so far on the T72. Mostly some scratch details etc on the upper hull and a little work on the turret. It's a sweet turret mate, it really is!
Your Gaelic is pretty good mate, and as the spelling changes from county to county your safe lol!
And a good weekend to you mate!
Cheers,
Glen
