Ken Meyers is selling French Leclerc for $25

August 19 2006, 1:08 AM

Hi Fellows,
About 25 posts down from this one a David Richard posted a French Leclerc for sale for $25 plus $10 postage. I emailed David stating that I was interested in his kit. I received an email NOT from David but from Ken Meyers telling me to send a money order to 5428 Palmer St, Houston,Texas 77004. I have no idea how David Richard ( the original poster) fits into all of this but I wanted to pass this infomation along to the rest of the ML membership.
Thanks.

I responded to his message, and here's what he has to say

August 19 2006, 12:55 PM

I responded to his message (maybe more people did, too). I almost sent payment over, but stopped when I read this thread of messages. I sent a message to scansox@yahoo.com, and here is the entire response I got:

"3 people use this address,i am getting out of the hobby as i have been blackballed,a few trades and some sales went sour,as a result my name got twisted out of shape,
all i am trying to is get rid of the kits and products....if i have to i will just throw this stuff in the garbage ...."

I put the transaction on hold, until the seller clears his name in this forum.

Caveat emptor!

He ripped me off too!

August 19 2006, 2:22 AM

Hi,
Ken ripped me off before for a $50 set of Friulmodel tracks, and I was only 17 years old when he did it. This guy is so low he even resorts to ripping off minors who can't afford to keep a large stash of kits. To this day he's never offered to pay me back or anything, he just ignores all my e-mails and moves onto new targets to scam. I hope one day this guy gets what he deserves.

-Steve

P.S. Ken I'm sure you'll probably read this so it would be great if you sent me an e-mail to resolve our trade but I know that will never happen.

Almost got me too.

August 19 2006, 4:43 AM

I answered a post from a "David Richards" a couple of weeks ago regarding "Tigers in Combat Vol.I" for $75.00 only to get a reply asking for a Postal M.O. to be sent to Myers. He actually pursued it for a few days.

Somebody needs to do something about this boy.

Postal Money Orders will be his downfall. As a Postal Inspector will get involved if you contact one at your local Post Office.

STAY AWAY!

August 19 2006, 11:28 AM

This is the guy who tried to rip me off for my Trumpeter BR 52, and only by persistent threats to call the Houston D.A.s office did I get it back. Stay far, far away from anybody sounding like this guy from the Houston area. I heard he also uses another name, but I can't remember what it was. Just stay away, Dave.

Cheers-
Bob M

Aliases

August 19 2006, 12:50 PM

Over on Armorama someone with the handle "Piper1944" and the name "John Richard" is probaby the same person.

Ken Myers, Gilbert Myers, John Myers, David Richard, John Richard, Aunt Jemima, Shirley Temple....

He pathetically says "I'm trying to sell this for my brother" or "I'm just trying to sell this to get out of the hobby".

Suggestion for you Ken. Be upfront. Get a job, post the following: "This is Ken Myers of Houston. If I have wronged you, contact me and I will make amends"

Until you do that, why don't you suggest an alternative response that the modelling community should have towards you until you end your continued thievery?

Ripped me of for an RC Tank

August 20 2006, 9:55 PM

I sent it to him before he paid because I trusted him. He never paid for it and claimed it never arrived. Post office put a trace on it because I insured it. I sent him a document for him to sign and return to me so I can collect on the insurance but he would not. (He probably knew it would be a federal offense to lie on the form). So he burned me for $45.00

Gilbert Myers Another Alias

August 23 2006, 8:44 PM

Last year I was ripped off badly on a trade on the Armorama website. A user by the name "Coolstud" got about UKú100 of modern armor and accessories from me. Needless to say, the stuff I was promised never turned up.

The guys name was Glibert Myers and his address was Houston Texas. Having read this and other threads I now see that this is probably just another alias for Ken Myers.
