I have a staffing (private school version of IEP meeting) with Brianna's teachers-but they did not tell her social studies teacher-so if this teacher is not there, it's a no go in my book.
Brianna is comprehending at a second grade level-she is in fifth grade. The issues are skills also-not content. Teachers seem to be teaching the content, not the skills....UGH! Other things like the words used for definitions of words make learning her vocabulary difficult. Its a vicious cycle and I am ready to climb off. (I am not giving up.)
So on our part, Brianna is in Scottish Rites doing Literacy work for half an hour, twice a week. We hope to enroll her in a literacy clinice that meets for an hour, twice a week. There is a waiting list for this clinic.
I will let you know how the staffing goes.
