Very short cycle

Can anyone offer any helpful insight? I was shocked to wake up this morning, Friday, with red bleeding. I presume it's AF. I've had brownish discharge since Sunday, and I guessed that it was mid-cycle bleeding.

Now, it appears I started AF on day 17. What's up with that? My last cycle was 28 days, and most run 26 days. By the way, I just turned 43. Does this mean, gulp, menopause is around the corner? Thank for all assistance.
