In fairness...

I've been watching this debate develop with interest. The sad fact is there are elements of Latics current support that believe Wigan Athletic wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Whelan, Stephen Gage and Nick Bitel are completely alien to them.

For a chairman of Wigan Athletic Football Club to announce on a national radio station that "rugby will always be king in Wigan" I find deeply insulting and unforgivable.

For a chairman of Wigan Athletic to rig the gates at the rugby to make it look better and help their salary cap (or what the hell, we'll cheat anyway) I find bizarre.

For a chairman of Wigan Athletic to completely ignore a serious marketing issue is unbelievable. When people have to look on bloody e-bay to buy any decent merchandise for a Premiership football club is utter ****e. Jack Sudworth did a far better marketing job when we were in the Fourth Division.

For a Wigan Athletic chairman to balance the books even though every pre-season he bangs on about how much "war-chest" money he's given the manager is taking the p*ss.

Pity Whelan sold a rugby league club because that's just about his level.
