Carl, I certainly do think Mr Whelan can be and indeed often is wrong. I think the lack of a real Supporters Club/bar and club shop is disgraceful. I also believe that some of his public statements are embarassing to say the least, and do nothing to put the club in a good light. Now neither I nor you know if he will let Heskey go, but we do both know that his circumstances and those of Chimbonda are totally different. With regards to letting Baines go, I know for a 100% cast iron fact that in the week after the Sheffield United game, he told both Hutchings and Whelan that he had no intention of signing a new contract no matter what the terms were. He also told Hutchings when Sunderland came in for him, that even though he'd talk to them again he had no intention of signing. He wanted to play for Everton. Full stop. And I happen to think we got a decent deal for him. As for the rest of your post, you finish off by having a go at Whelan for having a house in Barbados, building an extension and having personally fitted golf clubs. So what? He's a rich man. A self made man and he can spend his money exactly as he feels. You are in no position to tell him what he can do with his own money. You say you're not paranoid about him. Yes sure!
