... it's ROCKABILLY, you philistine!

Until you've been rocked out of your socks by Gene Vincent, Ronnie Dawson, Charlie Feathers, Jack Scott, Ray Campi and a whole host of fities musical innovators, don't take the pee!

Hillbilly is a far older musical style although Eddie did start off by playing hillbilly stuff with Hank Cochran. They performed as the Cochran Brothers, even though they were not related.

Hank went on to write a hell of a lot of great country music, including the immortal 'Little Bitty Tear' for Burl Ives! Eddie of course went on to rock n roll fame although his star shone more brightly here in the UK than it did in the USA.

Eddie could also be classed as the first ever 'punk rocker', but that is only my opinion. I reckon I'm right because much later the Sex Pistols covered a few of his songs. Although I suspect the humour in Eddie's 'My Way' and 'Somethin' Else' was lost on Sid and co!
