Response to Going down...

Followed by 3 straight hammerings by Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal?

I’m sorry but for a club of our size and stature to remain at this level, we need to invest heavily in the squad. Whelan, for whatever reason, does not want to do this. This is not an anti Whelan rant it is fact.

The momentum of promotion and a touch of the unknown kept us going until the Carling Cup Final in the first season in the league, we somehow managed to scrape through last season but I’m afraid this time round it will be curtains. With a loan player from a Championship side and an unknown who's never scored for us leading the line at the moment many would argue that you get what you pay for.

How we have gone from Ellington and Roberts to Bent and Agahowa is beyond me. Yes i know Heskey is injured but does anyone really think if a club comes sniffing in January with an offer in the region of 6 million it will be rejected?

2 years ago I’d have been bothered by relegation, now I’m actually half looking forward to getting our club back again.
