After numerous questions from buyers about this piece I have added some additional information about this series and the reason this piece is has a greater value than the standard production pieces by the same manufacturer.

FSOT, Jaquet Droz Grand Seconde Carbone LE, 43MM 18K white gold case with a carbon fiber dial and a special serial number 8/88 in NM condition with boxes and papers.

My GS is has a carbon dial not just black, It is a Grande Seconde • ref: J003034283 Technique Carbone Limited 88.

Here is a link to the retails of J*Ds. You will notice that this piece retails for 17900€ which equates to $25,478 USD.

It also has a special number in a limited series. Check any of the recent Antiquorom auctions and Christies. You will see that special numbers in a limited series (Patek, VC, AP, Panerai, J*D, etc) sell for more than other numbers.

If you look closely at the Grand Second model watch you will notice the shape of the number 8. In Asian culture, 8 is a very luck number, as is the # 7 in occidental cultures. My piece is 8/88, you cannot get any better than that unless it was an 8/8.

This limited edition is sold out. I will accept $9,800 delivered by registered mail in the US, I will ship overseas at actual cost to known buyers. I will consider interesting trades and my numerous references will cheerfully be supplied on request.
