Anyone notice drowsiness?

October 7 2006 at 5:52 PM

My husband and I both began taking 750mg Hoodia this morning. Both of us got extremely tired about an hour later. I forced myself to get up and keep going, but he laid down to rest and is still sleepy. Has anyone else experienced this in the beginning and does it go away? All other sites I have visited said it should not have this effect but how weird is it that two people have the same effect?

Thanks,
Julie

If hoodia works and deceases your appetite and you eat less, then yes it will leave you feeling tired. Think about it, as if you don't eat enough you are bound to end up tired, that's the way the body works folks.

This is just a thought in response to your question about drowsiness.
You can research it further, but if the ingredient from Hoodia (p57) stimulates the receptors on cells in the hypothalamus to supress your appetite, I'm wondering if this in turn sends a signal for the pancreas to stimulate insulin production therby reducing the amount of glucose that may be present in the blood. Low glucose levels cause drowsiness, lack of energy, and sometimes light headedness. The brain needs a certain level of glucose to function properly.
I wonder if your dosage is too high.
Be careful.
Just a thought.

I've read a fair bit about Hoodia and I don't remember the bushmen saying it made them tired. On the contrary they seemed to indicate that it helped keep them going.
