The Bali Resort opens
Bali, September 23rd 2006 Indonesian temple gongs and traditional Balinese dancers lit by the world's most beautiful sunset delighted local dignitaries, select vips and clients as the exquisite Bulgari Resort officially welcomed guests to this magical setting. From the lofty perch 160 meters above the Indian Ocean - Nicola Bulgari, Vice-Chairman of the Bulgari Group and Francesco Trapani, Chief Executive Officer, along with Robert Lagerwey, the resort's General Manager, proudly unveiled an elegant and truly incomparable property.
Celebrations continued to amaze as tradition and history were beautifully blended amid the shimmering pools and 59 villas that reflect Bulgari's inimitable elegance.
Guests were charmed by children playing the Balinese gamelan at the cliffside pool and lounge bar area where cocktail infusions and delicacies were served. As the sun set, dinner followed in the seductive ambience of the Sangkar restaurant located on the property's cliffedge. Afterwards the evening took on a vibrant pulse as the sounds of live music permeated the atmosphere.
The Resort is located near the village of Pecatu and the stunning clifftop site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, on the islands far southwestern tip.

Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Partners, the resort reflects a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Balinese design while conveying the distictive Bulgari Italian style.
The Bulgari Hotel, Bali is managed by Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, the joint venture between Bulgari and Marriott International's Luxury Group, utilizing new and proprietary service and operational standards.
