my ps2 loads quite slow, it will load but some sections of the games r really slow, any ideas?

I am not an expert but I think you my need to clean the laser lens or go to the system configuration in the main menu and press the triangle on the controller and go to playstation drive and press triangle again and then go to disk speed and put it on fast go back to the main menu and put a disk in and try to see if that works

check the white cog at the top of the drive if the system is open, depending on the version, line up the hold that is on the cog right at the metal clip that holds it.. Also try cleaning with q-tip.
