For some reason my PS2 started to not work. When you power it up, and press eject to put a game in the cd tray comes flying out and then a lound whining noise starts. Sometimes it goes back in and somtimes it doesnt but the noise doesn't stop. Any ideas? I currently have the PS2 taken apart and I was seeing if I could see anything getting stuck or whatever, but im really not sure what to look for. Any help would be appreciated.

Check underneath the cd tray and check to see if the track that controls the laser height is not chipped where the tray notch makes the 90 degree turn.
