Is the motherboard for the above two models identical? Can I swap them around from one model to the other? Is the laser lens interchangable between these models?
I believe you can interchange parts between version 5-8 systems ( what you have ) but it has to be the same kind of lense to change. For instance, you can only put a version C laser into a system that had a Version C. Putting a Version C into a Version R will not work, and vice versa. Different board compatabilities. Go to the laser eye parts page to tell the difference between the C and the R.

Read some other posts, apparently you can interchange a version R to a C and vice versa... I just find it better not to.
