I have a version 3 PS2 with a brand new laser fitted, after I fitted the laser the PS2 worked very well for 3 times of loading games, from then however it started going to the menu with the circling balls before loadingthe game, eventually it stopped loading games completely. However I discovered that if I turn the white wheel, that adjusts the angle of the laser, by one or two clicks each time it starts loading them perfectly again and then gets worse etc. This has happened to two V3 PS2s that i have worked on, I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this because its a pain to have to open the PS2 ever couple of times. it sounds like the portion of the motherboard that controls the Laser is burning them out you may actually need a new motherboard... it may be overpowering it out and slowly burning them up
