i took my ps2 apart yeasterday to ajust the laser height,but i returned it to the normal spot(i marked it first)now it wont read discs,it dont get a disc read error,it just keeps spining,saying its reading the disc,but wont load.

theres a possiblility of straigning the laser assembly if you have altered the height while it was starting to die..

most likely this unit will have to get its laser assembly replaced

whats happeneing is the unit is reading bits and peices of valid information and the PS2 is trying to read it... you will get a DRE if you leave it long enough... usually if you get a fast DRE its getting a high volume of corrupted data, yours may be getting a 60/40 mix of bad and good data and the unit is trying to recover
