I have a version 30001 ps2. Disc read error and it sucks. ive adjusted the white cog, with nothing helping. Anything else i can do? Is there any store that sell lasers?
Can i adjust the voltage on this version?

hey i have the same model of the ps2 30001 with the 8 screws on bottom. NOW if ur ps2 messes up dont blame it on me.Dont do this if only some games dont read*like blue bottom* or ps1* cuz that is laser voltage or the white nob* but only if nothing reads at all* BUT this is what i did. u turn it over take apart 8 screws. THEN take the 4 screws off the cd cover tray. and u should see the lens laser eye. NOW get 2 cuetips . get 1 part of a cuetip and put some alcohol on it. just wet it . BUT dont make it where it is soggy wet real bad that it is dripping just enough 2 clean laser eye with it get it a lil wet. then dry it in a circular motion with the dry cuetips.then put ur ps2 back 2gether. this always works 4 me. BUT be careful for the ps2 ribbon and the screws. dont put wrong screws in wrong places or u will mess up ur ps2. BUT u have already taken ur ps2 apart b4.This will work for awhile BUT eventually the DRE will come back. and u can repeat the process. BUT then eventually u will have 2 do it every week untill ur ps2 laser finally goes dead and u have 2 get another ps2.But by then hopefully PS3 is out. TELL me if this works for u.
