Well I have had my ps2 since 2002 and a year later it makes this very loud grinding noise. I can stop it if I hit it hard but if I don't it scratches my discs, any type.

I haven't noticed any patterns in when this does it but it does it every other day probably.



I have scratched so many games and i am going crazy any help is much needed

Your system probably just needs a good calibration and alignment of the laser eye.
