Okay this is like a two year old forum thingy. Correction now a three year old forum thingy and I am desperate on trying to revive my fat ps2.

It happend like this. I was playing San Andruis (sp) and all was good, my dog came walking buy and got caught up in the controler wire before I could stop her she knocked the ps2 onto the ground (only a 1 and a half foot drop)San Andruis didn't work anymore. I tried other games and it was all good.

But now in 2006 it's like not reading ANY of my games. However it does read the Gameshark PS2 *wonders if this is one of those "black or blue backed diskes"* but no other game even reads. Oh and I may as well mention that it reads CD too. =/ I have no job and no cash and I like the ps2 games that I have... I tried this do it yourself fix it thingy and got hung up on the "quarter sized gear" that is like connected to some "small metal" dealy. Ya said it was in the BACK of the unit. I looked and notta. I carefully removed the tray (snapping some of the cheap assed plastic :|||) after that stage of hell I saw some guard thingy at the FRONT of the unit. I removed it only one itty bitty screw was holding it down and I looked inside. I found a gear that looked to be the size of the quarter but there was no metal dealy. It also had another gear dealy ontop of it that the zig zag thingy of the tray is fed through to open and close. @_@ I lost it i'm lost, confused and adutated. ^^;;;;;; It would have been real great if there were some visuals of this being done and some graphichs like an arrow saying "Infomus quarter sized gear thingy"

It's a video game counsol and much like a computer has oodlez of wires, gears (okay computers don't have all them gears but ya should see where I'm going with this.)

It's a real kick in the ass that none of my games work. I only hope that the new SLIM ps2 won't suck as much... Then again I did get it when it was first out. I should have waited till they got the bugs worked out. I'm just surprised there wasn't a recall on them like there has been for the Xbox 360 *rolls on the floor laughing his ass off* xP No chance in hell would I waste my time with Microsoft. I use there Operating system and that's bad enough. I don't need more "blue screens" *shudders*

I could be more helpful if you provided the system version. Here is a link on how to identify what version you have: http://www.videogamerepair.com/ps2_version_id.htm
