I could be more helpful if you provided the system version. Here is a link on how to identify what version you have: http://www.videogamerepair.com/ps2_version_id.htm

Well if you already cleaned the laser, most likely it needs a voltage or height adjustment. You can adjust the height by moving the white cog at the top of the drive, just move it 2-3 clicks and test to see if you get any new results. I would not suggest you do a voltage adjustment, you would need the proper electronic equipment and knowledge to do so.

Hope this helps, here are some useful links.

If you wish to send us your system, please click the link provided: http://www.videogamerepair.com/FormPage1.htm

If you wish to repair the system yourself, here is a link to a guide that can walk you through the steps: http://www.powerfulguides.com/portal/affclicks.php?pid=VGR

If you just want to replace the lens, here is a link to order the part: http://www.videogamerepair.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?catid=33

Make sure to compare your laser with the pictures on the site, and know your version of PS2: http://www.videogamerepair.com/ps2_version_id.htm

Where is the height adjustment for the Slim model

January 27 2006, 11:42 AM

I got the problem of unable to read one backup disc on and off. This disc has been always running normally before the optical head was changed due to agine. The new head reads other disc without problem, only one back up disc is intermittenly readable but most of the time is unreadable.

Thanks !

David
