Ok last night i took apart my PS2 to try and clean it cause it was having trouble reading the games and was way slow at it when it did, i clean it out after getting it all aprt put it back together after having a hell of a time with the ribbon cord for the eject and reset buttons and notice i have an extra screw left over, i forget about it for a second and try the system and now it won't read anything cd's games dvd's and after about a 5 to 10 minute reading cycle it always comes up with Disc read error. is it possible that that extra screw is the problem or is the reader itself about dead? any help?

still haveing proble i have problen with mines have 2 white nobs at the back

I Need Help
February 19 2006, 11:07 AM
I was taking apart my PS@ to clean it, and after I did that (with an aresol can), I put it back together, and it worked fine. But then my brother put in a new game he got (Ty 2), and he said it started skipping, and reverting to the loading screen. Now all it plays is cd's. With Game discs is just says "Reading disc", and never changes, any ideas?
