Hi der,...first time posting here...I basically want to ask the values or at least the "SAFE" positions for the pot values of the laser lens...basically I'm working on adjusting the pots of my unit and well,...i cant quite play backup games,...even CD backups to play...i do have a handful of dvd backups that work,...but the dvdr's that i burned I cant quite get to work...so what would be the safe position that I can adjust it unto...(without using an ohm mtr...coz...i dont have one..)... default position would be at around 10 o'clock...so would it be ok to move it how far to the left or to the right?...would moving the pot at around 1 or 2 o'clock safe?...i've read @ a forum,..that he moved his pot values...to 2 o clock..and it worked fine...can somebody give me a suggestion?...mines a 50006J unit...tnx

Hi

You would need a Ohm-meter to see what the factory-setting are for your laser.

A typical value for a KHS-400c laser would be 1.4-1.5 KOhm, the older KHS-400b lasers could bee like 8-900 Ohms

I would typically try to lower the value 5% if all cleaning and COG-adjustments doesn´t give any results.

DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just start screwing the pot....you will 99.99% sure kill the laser, the pot-position is very touchy!

Good luck
