I recently got a free PS2 off of a co-worker. He told me that the drive stopped reading discs. I cleaned the lens on the cd. However, I didn't realize that the controller ribbon was disconnect. I tried reconnecting the ribbon, but the buttons on the the controller do not work. The analog light is on, but no functions of the button. What can I do?

The exact same thing happened to me, my controller works in other PS2's but not in mine, the light comes on only when i push the analog button though.
