6/21/07 Bernadette Vohs, (AKA Jackie Greatsinger, Bernadette Beyers, Jackie Vohs, and others), DBA "Greatsinger Great Danes" was arrested by the Pierce County Sheriff's Dept and released on bail. Approximately 15 dogs (2-3 Danes and several other breeds) were seized this day due to their physical conditions and living conditions. (Breeds are Danes, Saint Bernards, English & French Bulldogs, miniature poodles, miniature dachshunds, Yorkshire Terrier, Pug, and a Scottie (mix).

06/29/07 The remaining dogs still on Vohs’ property (the out door dogs)were confiscated. Now about 35 dogs owned by her are held in the Tacoma Humane Society. At that time, Dane Outreach was told there were 12 adult Danes and a 5-week old litter of eight. The Humane Society would not release the Danes to us at that time, pending permission from the Auditor’s Office (in charge of Animal Control) and the Pierce County Prosecutor’s office.

Dane Outreach was the only Rescue allowed to take in confiscated dogs at that time. The HS had no choice as they were not equipped to handle that many giant dogs, not to mention the litters being born to them. All the other dogs remained in the Humane Society

On Nov 12th Cascade Bulldog Rescue was allowed to pick up the 2 Frenchies & 2 Bulldogs that were still in the shelter. Since that time CBRR had been "fostering" them for the Tacoma Humane Society.

Bernadette Vohs made a plea last month and finally custody of the dogs was transfered this week. CBRR now has legal custody of the 2 Bulldogs & 2 Frenchies. There was also an additional Bulldog seized who gave birth to one pup shortly after Animal Control took the first batch of dogs in. That Bullie and pup have been fostered by a THS staff member and will be staying there.

There is so much to this case and way more to the story but that would be impossible to share every detail. If you would like to hear more on this case please reference the links at the end of the email.

Thank you to ALL of the people involved in helping all of the dogs involved in the case!
