re training

I always did obedience first as I liked to get the control (my Bulldogs had to much energy),I always used a regular choke chain when I trained obedience.

When I trained Confirmation I used a jeweled collar for Breed at first they wanted to sit but I taught them Off the Hip Heel which allows you to keep the dog a reasonable distance away from your body, about 3 feet,or the distance of your extended arm, never letting your dog move past your hip. This will teach the dog not to run past you & becoming uncontrlllable. I trained many people who did both at the same time.

People who say they can not do both is because they are to lazy to train, it takes time to show that dog what you want him to do.

I worked for Carl Spitz Sr who trained the dog in the Wizard of Oz,he told me he did not like the word train but to educate your dog , it takes time for you to get the dog to understand a command such as sit. When he truly understands there is no correction or tugging to make him do it, because he now truly know what the word means.

Carl looked at me and said I am in business of training dogs for the public because the dog is only as smart as his owner!

I would tell this person to go train do not complain and show these people what happens when you use your mind! Keep me posted how she does. Kim
