Just wanted everyone to know I almost lost my dear old friend Slammer my Border Terrier she is 13, she started throwing up at first I thought it was just a upset stomach but it went on for 4 days. I really thought she might have a stomach tumor my vet x-rayed her and they was a shinny round object he said might be a button I was shocked as this is dog I have to hand feed I rushed her over to other hospital he said they might be able to get it out with a scope if it did not move. I prayed they could get it as her age was a problem.
They got it out & it was a Penny the copper made her deathly sick. I had a hard time as she had food in her stomach so they had to pass a stomach tube to empty the stomach to visualize the foreign object. The lining of her stomach was bruised. It was a ruff night but she is better today I just pray she will be OK wanted to post this as be sure no coins are ever on floor I am very careful about things as my Bulldog eats everything.
Slammer has never chewed or played with toys so be careful! Kim
