From what I hear the New Vaughan Kings will be looking for a new coach, and some new players too! This team needs to clean up their dressing room first before they throw stones.

Why is this team going to be looking for a new coach? hasn't there been a few different coaches in the last 2 or 3 years with pretty much the same result? what is this coach doing that is so bad?

All i know is that when my son was playing against them, i felt bad for the team, they looked scared of the dude. I would be too, he looks and sounds uncontrollable. I think at this point the Kings would just want to have fun, they know they are not going to the playoffs, why make it less fun.

Wow, somebody told me to read this and I can't believe this crap.

This is all such BS and typical on a team that isn't playing well. There's nothing going on in the dressing room except some frustration, lack of bonding and some chirping that may have got out of line. If so, it's the coach's job to fix that and supervise the room. He will. Next step, get the team focused again on the common goal and improve the on-ice team play. Playoffs or no playoffs that will happen. If it can't, change always happens whether it's players and/or coaching staff.

This team was pretty good at staying off the radar of this vulture website. Don't give ammunition to the nutbars who have axes to grind. Your kid doesn't need to read it.

nice try, are you trying to down play the investigation on your team. something had to have happened that was not too good. why are you trying to hide the facts. let them out and just maybe your team (VK) can become a better team.

Outshot Titans, especially in the 2nd. titans had a good goalie and the Kings got no lucky breaks. Tempers then took over. Still, all Kings not playing well. Need to get a good #1 goalie, replace one forward, get some scoring touch back, more team passing, better player coverage and escape their slump in confidence. Big order. One step at a time now. Replacing coach alone wont help.

Dont be an idiot. He does run the show until the parents go to the association to get him fired. Thats the way it should be and every team is the same. Why dont you quit hiding behind a website and step up? Organize the parents and actually get him fired. No thanks? I didnt think so.

well they went out and got a goalie from welland, who is not any better than the ones they have. they let him start today and sat their starter and got a 6-0 loss out of him after playing brampton. then after the game they cut their original starter goalie and kept the goalie who lost 6-0 to start.

whats going on with this team?

i think they should get rid of the coach. it only makes sense.

Its still very early in the season, no need to panic. Jumping ship now wont do anyone any good. Roll the lines and play all the kids that were selected to be on team. This will build confidence and team cohesion. After a while it will be obvious to the coaches and players where each kid ranks on the team. One step at a time guys.

If the boys are chirping at each other in the dressing room and blaming each other for their losses the team might as well pack it in right now and give it all up. Your coach definitely needs to ensure that this no longer continues. If there is no sense of team - win as a team and lose as a team - there isn't a team. Noone should be feeling superior to anyone else on a team that has barely scored a goal or come close to being competitive in most game situations. Actually, noone should feel or act superior to anyone else even on the most competitive teams! Recipe for disaster right there.

Released #1 goalie, what a joke. The new goalie from Welland is so much better than both the AA goalies we had. The problem is the coach didnt play him. Its AAA Max, name a #1 starter and he plays until he gets beat out for the spot. You also continue to let the same undisciplined players take dumb penalties with no reprecussions. Way to stick by your word! A valuable 2 points given to a team we should be ensuring doesnt make the playoffs. Dont blame most of the boys Max, the game was yours to lose and you did a good job losing it.

Waah!!! My kid got cut and I want revenge!!! Waah!!! My kid isnt good enough to play for any other AAA team so I cant dare ask for a release!!! Waah!!! I used to be able to control things more in AA!!! WAAH!!! This lame site is all I've got and nobody takes it seriously!!!

Teams that lose whine. If you were 12-0 nobody would be saying sh+t even if your coach was Jack the Ripper. Thats the way it works. And if your kid had more talent some other team would take advantage and arrange a trade and youd be somewhere else. Do you really think that having your kid read this stuff helps him somehow (even if hes been cut)? Do you really think this will make change happen on the team? Youre a worse joke than your coach.

I know your team and maybe 2 or 3 of your boys will play Junior A somewhere someday. They got a detour here because your coach sucks, your team hasn't got enough talent and you have a few headcases for players. Its too late this year but if those boys want it bad enough they will get it turned around by next year in Midget. Thank heaven this will be your kids last year in serious hockey. What will you do with your time when youre not on this site? And dont kid yourself, your kid and everybody else on your team knows youre writing this stuff. Nice.

Your missing the point
This coach is driving these kids crazy, calling them names and not treating them with any respect. Its not like any of these kids are going very far in hockey, so let them just have fun. They do not need some guy screaming at them all the time, this will be their last season together, lets just enjoy it and not worry about some guy causing un needed drama.

No your missing the point. The coach had his issues,
BUT Kids playing Minor Midget AAA that aren't going anywhere have no right to be there. This is the year the AAA kids have worked so hard for. Houseleague is for FUN. Get a release and let the new coach find a player waiting for a AAA chance who is really HUNGRY for it.
Most parents have better things to do with 6k than watch their 15 year old kids have FUN.

Just because you have a hunger for it doesn't make you a better player. This is the year that all this stuff comes out in the wash. Who is deemed worthy is decided by somebody else and not the parent. In the mean time not every team is going to be a top contender. So if your kid has the hunger, help him develop, set goals on and off ice and sit back and let it happen. And don't worry about the rest of the team, its out of your hands now, more than ever before. There are a lot of parents who like to rub it in because their kid is on a winning team. It doesn't make them a winner.

Again you are missing the point.
At this level of hockey in MM and to some lesser
degree Midget hockey there are no WINNING
TEAMS. Not one team ever was drafted together.
Scouts will pick PLAYERS that they believe have what
their organization is looking for. Each
organization is already developed and therefore
looking for a different combination than another.
Winning teams will have some drafted, losing teams
will also have some drafted, middle of the pack teams
will have some drafted. Thus said, EVERYONE PLAYING
MINOR MIDGET AAA HOCKEY HAS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
TO SHINE THIS YEAR. Not all will, and to some degree
it is already obvious. If your junior wants to play and
have fun, take him to a fun place, and let someone else
skate in and try to shine during what is left of the
season.

Lots of teams will have no players drafted and the vast majority of those drafted will get three or four days at an OHL camp before heading back to Midget. Lots of those kids won't even make AAA teams next year. Nice fairy tale ending. Have fun with the game and enjoy the best years of your life and quit obsessing about your hockey future.

Okay. So your son who is going nowhere
in this game, is just wanting to have fun,
and you simply have 6k to allow him to have fun,
get home on school nights at midnight or later,
miss parties and Saturday nights with his friends
cause you know he is just having fun.

Exactly. Your kid has to want it and work for it
and show it. That's why if you kid isn't really
into it firstly why waste your time and money when
they don't even want it. Secondly even if your kid
really wants it but isn't good enough that it up
to the scouts to make that clear.

What I have been trying to say is REGARDLESS OF HOW
YOU SEE YOUR KID AND THEIR ABILITY. IF YOUR KID ISN'T
REALLY INTO THIS WHY BOTHER????? There are so many other
levels of hockey that are fun and less stressful. Lots of
kids aren't going anywhere, especially on this team, but
if your kid doesn't even want to why make him walk the plank??
You just don't get it--would you make your kid audition
for anything else they didn't want??? Do you go for job
interviews that you don't want. This is the big year for
these kids. Lots of stress, lots of emotion, for many
lots of disappointment. I guess your at the resaurant
sitting at a table but aren't going to order food???
Easy to see why the coach freaked out so much. Your
hockey sense is brutal

Getting better. Coaching smarter. Kids playing their roles better. Better passing. Better goaltending. Penalties way down. Still have a lot of work to do especially around getting to the net, avoiding being out of position and turning over the puck. But better.

Pretty good game against the Rangers last night. 2-1 loss. We put the puck in our net for their first goal but we didn't let it demoralize us as it has in the past. We tied it up but they scored on a 2-on-1 with 6 seconds left due to to an unnecessary pinch by us. Heartbreaking.

Keep your spirits up guys. Keep working hard and play smart.

Nothing wrong with AA players making the jump to AAA to see how they stack up even if it means playing for a weak team. The experience itself makes it worth while, and who knows every now and then a late bloomer might actually excell at the higher level and be able to move up to a better team. With that in mind most Dads have to remember that most of the kids playing on this team were either good or pretty good AA players and some of the players are on this team because they are big, or tall, or big & tall. So good luck to everyone and for Gawd's sake keep your perspective and sense of humour.

get over it Dad. crap happens in the gthl and it provides real life lessons to these kids.
kids that go through this type of s__t develop thicker skins that will help them later on.
Does Max still have same guy guiding him on goalies - the one whose son played for Max before and now plays junior. what experience does that guy's father have to be a goalie coach?
U wonder why coach was making decisions he was making. didnt same thing happen last year.
suck it up - life goes on.
goalies need longer to develop any ways - if this kid wants it he will work hard and keep trying.
good luck.
