Gaunce IS the team. Other than Morris #55, now there is a real good stay at home dependable defenseman. You neve even see Morris out there. Just goes aboput his business. Gaunce is better than his brother was (bigger and stronger) and will go high in the draft. The consumate power forward.

Anyone know why head coach MG is no longer working as a teacher? Is it true he got fired for innapropriate behaviour with a minor? If that is the case why are the Waxers allowing him to stay on as head coach?

I understand the player injured on the Boarding or Charging Major is doing better. Concussion symptoms.

Was told the kid that hit him is an extremely strong kid. Add in the fact that he left his feet and bingo.

As for Gaunce not being as hard to play against..I don't know about that. I'd say that he is picking his spots better. Not getting too caught up in making that power hit and worrying more about taking himself out of the play making THAT hit. He still has such a quick release and can pick the spot pretty well.

BG is still a very strong and powerful forward. I really don't understand though why ...MG has him on the point on the PP..quarterback is nice and deciding who and where they get the puck but ..who is in front causing trouble taking the hits and shoveling in the garbage ? NOOOOOOBODY !!

Still cant say enough about that kid MM on Defense...so good. So unknown and SO steady.

SCC parent, here. The punishment doled out to the SCC player was excessive. The problem is not that he is a dirty player or that it was a dirty hit ... the problem is that he is one of the strongest kids in the league and a gritty player and it is therefore predictable that a lot of kids are going to go down hard when he hits them. I watched the kid when he was on the Wolves and he played just as hard there. What was unfortunate was the "lobbying" done by the Waxers (including the omnipotent MR. G) to get the stiffest penalty possible and then the classless way the same fellow accosted the SCC player's dad afterwards. Buddy, the kids are almost 16. Don't you think its time to cut the apron strings? All of that having been said, here's hoping the boy who was hit has a full and speedy recovery. One last thing ... the son of Mr. G was telling our guys on the ice that they are garbage and that he will be "going in the first round". Nice. Maybe you should be having a talk with your own boy rather than with the parent of an opposite team player. Oh, I forgot, the boy doubtlessly gets that kind of attitude from you in the first place, right?

He is a strong kid, however taking the body is on thing taking the body to hurt is another thing. This kid hits to hurt and you will never see him hit someone without both his hands on the stick and the stick out in front of him. We also played against him last year and saw him take a run from one side of the ice to the other and run the smallest kid in the ETA. Play hockey and hockey is not played waiting the hole game to hammer someone.

Last few minutes of the game this player was receiving a penalty for roughing on delay. (hands high and hit a markham player chest and into the chin area) same player then hit another waxer player at the side boards and absolutely pasted him into the boards and glass. He may have left his feet he may not have..either way the referee stopped play and issued the original roughing penalty AND a Major and GM for Boarding. The waxer player seemed to be injured on the play for sure. Looked groggy etc. The game went on and SCC won. End of story.

I also agree..the ref did a great job all night including issuing the penalties on this play.

What are you on about that Mr. G lobbied for the stiffest penalty possible ?

Yeah player in question is a very big solid boy. However from my years watching him at Central not once did he challenge anybody his size. The hit hit he delivered last year on #12 of Toros was a classic example of who he targets. There are plenty of boys in the ETA that would feed this kid his lunch but they would never get a chance to because he would never engage them.If you ever get a chance to talk to a parent from the Wolves they will tell you straight up he is a dirty player period and cost them plenty of games with his timely penelties. The truely toughest of kids challenge the bigger kids. This kid has demonstrated year after year that he is not tough but nothing more than a coward who picks his spots carefully against much weaker opponents. The reason he is not on Wolves this year is because of the above facts, not because he is not good enough. That should tell you everything.

Wow. What a lot of smack. With respect, you sound like one of the kids, acutally. Here is the real situation on this player, from somebody who has watched him play against his own kid for years:

1. He is a very good player
2. He is a very good hitter, hits clean and does not go after little guys, despite what the previous poster would have you believe.
3. He is now on South Central Coyotes, having been recruited there.
4. He had to get a gizillion releases to make it through and a number of teams not only wanted him but hinted they might hold him up (he and his dad insisted on the release in each case in a very polite and firm way I am sure).

Sorry, but you just don't know what you are talking about. The kid is a great kid, is not a bully in any way, shape or form and, I would bet, will be sought after next spring.

Anyway, I hope the boy who took the hit is getting better, that is the main consideration, always.

8:16 you say you know the real situation and 6:30 is a liar. Typical. However answer these questions how many games did this player miss last year due to suspensions? How many penalty minutes did he have last year and this year. But perhaps the most telling is in your own words " He had to get a gizillion releases to make it through ..." Why was he granted all those releases? The answer is not that they politely asked, the answer is the answers from the first 2 questions!!

We look forward to the next game against your team. At least there is more parity in the division this year. Good luck, Markham and no hard feelings.

Oh PLEASE do let us know how you feel at the end of the season. This VERY fine family have a uncanny way of wearing out their welcome. This too you shall see. Oh and yes, exactly how many games suspensions did this good player have last year? Of course, 3rd line COW with only seconds of playing time per game, perhaps this influences the answer.

1. He is a very good player
2. He is a very good hitter
3. He is now on South Central Coyotes, having been recruited there by a coach who likes hardscrabble players
4. COW cut him, he was also released without offer by Whitby, AP, Markham and YSE. He asked all but one of these teams for a tryout ut was denied. Teams don't want this type of player anymore.

The kid fine off the ice. Players from several teams speak highly of him and think all around he's a good kid.

Now for the bad part.

He has learned or been taught dangerous/injurious tactics that are mostly used against defenseless or smaller players. A string of injured opponents, GMs and GRMs support this.

What OHL team is interested in a cowardly goon after the Liambas incident? You think this kid's actions aren't noted in his Central Scouting file?

Dad is a nutbar too, probably the root cause of all this.

I'm sure this kid would take care of himself if Gaunce crossed the line.

There are other parents whos boys have made it to the show and they don't come on here and beat their chest. Nor do their kids tell the opponents that they are going first in the draft. Humility is lost somewhere with this guy and his kid demonstrates that. Since you're talking about the show, he has to get there and prove himself.

I forgot that he was not behaving like an ape in the stands. This man was does not try to intimidate other players/parents.

SG, I know you very well, you're on here trying to defend your poor attitude. Simply put, you're a bully. Let me tell you. You will hurt your kid with your attitude. Teach him some respect. Most importantly, how to be humble. Unlike yourself. Enough with you JERK.

Mr. Paul Santi,

You're just jealouse because Gaunce will get drafted. You for all your trying over the years have been unable to put together any semblance of a team over there in your loserville, and at this point it is apparent that you never will as your arrival back on the scene took your team from starting to be respected back to the basement. Gaunce will never play for you, and you will continue to look like a fool at this level.

perhaps, when gaunce is in the show, you might be able to just sit back and enjoy watching him rather than attacking the kid, his father, and everyone else to make up for your sore ego.

leave our team alone, get off this thread, and please don't let me hear from you again until we beat you in our next game against the infamous SCC. even then you'd be best to just shut your mouth... perhaps SCC has a chance of winning again if you do.

Wow, should be an interesting game on the 20th. Lots of crap on this thread. Quite the rivalry building?? I think I will go watch this game on Friday. Heard SCC is improving rapidly and Markham, not so much.

Yes SCC is definately improving. The other goalie played against the London team in the Brantford tourney and he did pretty good. Looks like they will do well for the second half of the season. The boys are all getting big and strong and now it is "whomever shows up" game.

Truth be known, both goalies played well against London. We were 0 to 0 going into the third and lost by a goal in last two minutes plus empty net goal. Played em again in quarter finals and they beat us 5 to 3 (different goalie). More importantly, our guys are all playing well. We give all three coaches credit for that plus the hard work of the boys. You guys have a very good team and we are happy that our guys are now competitive with you. Let's enjoy the hockey, folks, as all the boys (on both teams) are making their folks proud.

Relax guys at SSC, you've managed to beat some lower ranked teams and one team above you, Markham, once. You can try to tell yourselves as much as you want that you are "on the rise" and "much improved" but the facts don't reflect that. So just be quiet and other people will acknowledge you if or when you deserve it.

Thanks for your unwanted comments. Mr. Santi is a very respectable man; unlike you, he would not waste his time on here. Can't say the same about SG - he's trash.

You Markham guys kill me. Telling us to"relax" and saying our boys have only beaten one team above us. Really? The Coyotes have beaten quite a few teams above them in the supposed hockey rankings. Including, as I recall, your team. Our guys recently lost by one goal to Jr. Canadians in final at one tourney and to London Knights in last two minutes at another. Those are both top 5 teams ... at least give credit where credit is due. Anyway, at least you have stopped sobbing about what big mean players our boys are.

Exactly what teams have you beaten in the top 20 this year? I'm not talking about "close but no cigar only 2 minutes left" games. Actual wins, you know worth 2 points in the standings. You have beaten poor teams and a lucky game against Markham. So what? You will lose badly next time you play them and then you'll brag about what exactly?

I do give credit when credit is due. There is none owing in this case so you're not getting what you don't deserve.

Sorry big guy!!

Okay, so JC are now number 6 ... they were 5th on the list when we played them. Also, we did not claim to have beaten top 20 teams (although we have tied more than one). We claimed to have beaten quite a few teams above us in the rankings, which we have done (check the scores and check the teams). We got lucky playing you guys? We'll see, I guess ... Markham and SCC play each other twice in the next three weeks. Anyway, the boys will figure it out on the ice, right? Good luck and see you Friday.

Nothing to do with the dads ... all to do with the players. Good luck to both teams and heres hoping that they have good games, however the scores turn out.

Mr. Markham

Mr. Gaunce WILL get drafted but to say we are jealous shows your stupidity and your lack of hockey since. We beat you in one game get over it. The hockey world did not suddenly stop, in fact to sit in front of your keyboard spewing how bad we are shows the confusion that is going on in your silly minds. Friday night will come and go and the sun will shine Sat. morning win or lose. There is a hope from SCC that you spend all your time dealing with payback and setting the record straight cause if the game turns in our favor we could win again.

me thinks Mr. SCC is telling Mr.Markham: Markham can't win a physical contest, i.e.: Markham can be intimidated.

Clarington brought a tough physical game on Monday, Markham met the challenge. The 1st SCC game was a wakeup call, they should play tougher on Friday.

You guys are all pot stirrers. No bad blood between Markham/SCC. Let the kids play the game. Moms/dads, be prepared for some good entertainment. Win or lose, it should be a good game as both teams will be looking to move up in the standings.

As an SCC parent, I totally agree. Good luck, Markham and good luck to our guys, too. Interesting battle for third and fourth playoff spots.

Good game between SCC/WAXERS. Very close untill the refs called marginal penalties which eliminated any comeback for SCC. Way to go Waxers, we'll take the next one.

As an SCC parent, I cannot blame this one on the refereeing. Good, close, game but Waxers manufactured the better chances, no doubt about it. Also, dumb bench minor towards the end of the game by head coach caused 5 on 3 where Markham got the insurance marker. If SCC is to gain a playoff spot it is more likely that they will catch NC than catching Markham. Still, 2 games in SCC/Markham series left and results of those games may well determine placement in standings. Good luck to both teams (but more luck, please, to SCC...)

any time a BM is given to a member of the coaching staff..that team official should apologise to the team. Especially if it results in a loss.

Besides, the refs are from the Richmond Hill Association.
