Looks more like listed by points. Huskies have played more games. So comparison isn't completely valid. How about win record against supposed playoff teams? |

Eagles are 5 points ahead of Huskies
So dream on. |

Huskies are in first, who is to say Eagles are going to win games in hand, until and if they win, then you can count points. Eagles are dreaming, if they think they will finish first, just not good enough |
|
Anonymous Coward (no login) | Re: 95AA WestNo score for this post | November 5 2009, 2:39 PM |
Let me make you feel better, If Eagles and Huskies lost all there games from now on, the Eagles will still have more points then the Huskies. |
|
Anonymous Coward (no login) | Re: 95AA WestNo score for this post | November 5 2009, 2:52 PM |
Huskies have lost 30% of their games.
Eagles have tied 10% of their games.
Based on 1000 games.
Huskies will have 333 games lost.
Eagles will have 100 games tied .
Difference in points will be.
Huskies 666 wins X 2 = 1332 points
Eagles 900 wins X 2 = 1800 points
Eagles 100 ties X 1 = 100 points
Eagles total = 1900 points. |

What is your point?
If you take a point differential today and multiply it by any number, it gets bigger. Wow. There's a revelation.
If you mean to imply that a point differential today will continue indefinitely (well, at least for 1000 games), then you're an idiot.
Either way, its not looking so good for you. |

Saw the game too. It was a great game to watch between two good teams. Lot's of end to end action and puck movement. When you look at the standings, it makes me laugh to read the childish arguments about which team is "better". The season has barely past the one third sign post and only six points separates 11th from 4th. Even among the top three teams, no one has managed to run away and hide. There's still a lot of hockey left and two weeks can see some big changes... and guess what moms and dads... THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE... GREAT HOCKEY. |

The week that was…..
This week saw the fall of the last undefeated team ( Eagles), a team making
a move up the standings (Icedogs) and a team maybe getting their
game together (Royals). Let’s start at the top…..
Eagles--get an expected win over the Toros (4-1) and then lose their
first game of the season in a high scoring affair to the Sharks.
(6-5)
Tigers—win over the Canucks, solid win over the Sharks (4-1) and then
lose close game to the Icedogs (3-2)
Huskies—two workmanlike wins over the Terriers(5-3) and the North
Stars (5-1)
Icedogs—close (3-2) win over the Tigers, followed by (7-0) win over
Hornets has this team moving up the standings.
Rangers—seems that all Rangers games are close (1-0) loss to
Royals followed by (3-2) over the Lightning.
Sharks—tough loss to the Tigers (4-1) followed by a big win over
the Eagles(6-5)
Braves—light week with only one game (1-0) win over the Panthers
not scoring much but not giving up much either.
Panther—close loss to the Braves(1-0) followed by sloppy win
over the Hornets(6-4)
Jets—loss to the Stars(4-2) win over the Lightning(5-4) 500 week,
500 team, may just get you a playoff spot.
Royals—go 2-0 for the week with wins over the Rangers(1-0) and Toros(4-2)
may just be getting the **** together.
Stars---same as the Jets, loss to the Huskies(5-1) win over the Jets (4-2)
500 week, staying in sight of a playoff spot.
Lightning—0 for 2 for the week, losses to the Jets(5-4) and Rangers(3-2)
has them losing contact of any playoff hopes.
Nothing real interesting in the other 4 teams.
The week ahead report will follow later today…..
Your thoughts and comments always welcomed…

|
statsman (no login) | Love this divisionNo score for this post | November 9 2009, 12:38 PM |
We got 13 games this week (Monday to Sunday) some of them
real big.
Eagles---on tap for this week, Lightning and Huskies.
Although they have beaten both these teams, both wins were by only a goal.
Will be interesting to see how they rebound from their first loss
of the year.
Tigers—on tap for this week, Braves and Royals.
Have not played either of these teams this season. Should be low scoring game against
Braves, and Royals playing better.
Huskies---on tap for this week, Icedogs and Eagles.
Huskies were one of the the preseason favorites to win this division,
time to flex their muscles (or realize that this division is up for grabs)
IceDogs---on tap for this week, Jets and Huskies.
Warning!!!do not look past Jets game towards clash
with the Huskies, if you do, could go 0 and 2 for the week.
Rangers---on tap for this week, Sharks
Light week, could fall in the standings with a loss.
Sharks---on tap for this week North Stars and Rangers.
Exploded for 6 goals against Eagles. Will need scoring to continue
to get 2 wins, could move up the standings if they do.
Braves---on tap for this week, Tigers and Terriers.
A couple wins by the Braves here could really tighten
the standings up.
Panthers---on tap for this week, Toros
Light week, need a win here or could drop in the standings.
Jets---on tap for this week, Icedogs and Lightning.
Might just catch Icedogs looking ahead to the Huskies and Lightning not
playing well. A couple wins will move them up nicely.
Royals---on tap for this week, Canucks and Tigers.
Should beat the Canucks(repeat SHOULD), big game
against Tigers. A couple wins here and this division will
be a real mess.
North Stars---on tap for this week, Terriers and Sharks.
Like the Royals, Stars should beat the Terriers and big
a game against Sharks.
Lightning—on tap for this week, Jets and Eagles
Did play the Eagles tough in a 4-3 loss. Have to get going
or will fall right out of contention.
Your thoughts and comments are always welcome.

Hello all you reasonable, sane and intelligent 1995 hockey fans and fruitbars out there.
Pardon my ignorance, been to Tahiti for a couple of years, sorry to ask, excuse my stupidosity, I should know this already, but what team is in first place right now?
Are the Sharks still the team to beat?
A few years ago the Toros looked strong ... do they still have a great team?
When these 95 kids were Minor Atom superstars, wow those Toros could skate.
Bet they're the best, eh, hosers?

Falling is a better word.
They would be falling from a first place contender in AA to a AAA disaster in the basement.
Half the Rebels are kids that still should be playing AA.

Statsman (no login) | The week that wasNo score for this post | November 18 2009, 9:25 AM |
The week that was……….A little late reporting this week so
we will include games played Monday and Tuesday…..
Tigers-----Good week saw them move into first place (Eagles do have 2 games
in hand) close win over the Braves (2-1) loss to the Royals (more on them later)and a good win over the Terriers.
Eagles---stilling looking like the team to beat, a tie against the Lightning (more on them later) and solid win over the Huskies (5-2).
Icedogs---as we stated last week that the dogs better not look past their game against the Jets to the Huskies cause it might just bite them. Well, bitten they were, (4-3) loss to the Jets was not impressive. BUT, the beating they lay on the Huskies was!!!!
Huskies---I will leave it to you all to explain what happened. I expected them to flex their muscles this week, boy was I wrong. Spanked hard by the
Icedogs and then kicked by the Eagles.
Rangers---Taking care of business, 1 game. 1 win (2-1) over the Sharks
Panthers---I have to admit, this teams surprises me. I thought they would have retreated back to their familiar spot in the bottom of the standings, but they had a solid week with ties against the Toros (2-2) and Stars (4-4) and solid win over the Sharks (2-0). Have played more games (17) than any other team but still in the thick of things.
Braves---This teams needs to get their offence going, (2-1) loss to the Tigers and (5-0) win over Terriers. Not an impressive week.
Stars---A win (3-0) over the Terriers and a tie (4-4) with the Panters, Kind seems that their stuck in neutral.
Royals---2 wins this week (5-0) over the Canucks, (3-1) over the Tigers, 4 in a row has them moving up the standings.
Sharks—2 losses this week (2-1) to the Rangers and (2-0) to the Panthers. That’s 3 losses in a row since their big win over the Eagles. Dropping FAST!!!!
Jets—Big win over the Icedogs (4-3) and a loss to the Lightning (3-0). Another team stuck in neutral.
Lightning---Good week for this team. 2 wins (3-0) over the the Jets, (4-1) over the Hornets and a hard fought tie (1-1) with the Eagles. Team looking better but has a long way to go up the standings into a playoff spot.
Your thoughts and comments are always welcomed…

Short week (Wed to Sun) but some big games....
Tigers---Huskies coming off 2 big losses, and a win here by the Tigers
will put them 7 points up on the Huskies. First meeting of
year between these 2 teams.
Eagles---Big week for the Eagles. A couple wins against the Icedogs &
Braves will go along way in establishing them as the team to beat.
Icedogs—On tap Eagles and Rangers. 4-4 tie in an earlier meeting with
the Eagles and a 3-2 loss to the Rangers. After their big win
against the Huskies now would be the time to make a statement of
how good they are.But then again could make a statement of how good
their not.
Huskies---On tap the Tigers. Wounded puppies right now. We’ll see what
they are made of.
Rangers---On tap Icedogs. Icedogs scoring lots of goals, we’ll see if Rangers
team defence can hold them down.
Panthers---No games the rest of the week.
Braves—On tap the Eagles. Need some offence, 2 goals will not win this game.
Stars---On tap Canucks. A win is a must here if they want to stay in the
playoff picture.
Royals---On tap Lightning and Toros. Team playing its best hockey of the
year but so are the Lightning.
Sharks---On the tap the Canucks. A win is a must here, falling badly.
Jets—On tap the Hornets. A win here will give them 18 points and move them up
the standings.
Lightning---On tap the Royals. Lightning playing well right now, but so are
the Royals. Lightning need a 2 wins here, or hopes will fade
fast.

Some big games this week.
Eagles Ice Dogs. The dogs are hot after the big 8-1 thrashing of the Huskies.
Tigers Huskies. This game depends on how many players the Husky coach will let play.
Braves Eagles. The battle of the old A teams.
Royals West Mall. Both teams need this one.
Rangers Ice Dogs. Good test for the Rangers D. Rangers have been a surprise this year.
Braves Huskies. The Huskies may need this one if they lose the ID game. |

Lets assume that the 4 top teams to this point in the season
are, The Eagles, Huskies, Tigers and the Icedogs.
Now let’s look at their records when playing each other.
Eagles---have beaten the Huskies twice, beaten the Tigers once
and have tied the Icedogs. That’s 7 out of a possible 8 points.
Icedogs---have beaten the Huskies once, a win and a tie against the
Tigers, and a tie against the Eagles. That’s 6 out of a possible 8 points.
Huskies—have lost to the Eagles twice, lost to the Icedogs once,
and have beaten the Tigers once. That’s 2 out of a possible 8 points.
Tigers---have lost to the Eagles once, lost to the Huskies once, and
have lost and tied the Icedogs. That’s 1 out of a possible 8 points.
Although the standings show the Tigers first, Eagles second, Huskies
third and the Icedogs fourth, I would be more inclined to rank them
this way---
1-Eagles
2-Icedogs
3-Huskies
4-Tigers
Note- Rangers knocking on the door, and could move into
the top four after this weekend.

If the division were only those four teams, you'd be right. But when you bring in the rest of the division, the question becomes who is consistently getting the job done against the lower level teams. It's all about consistency. Didn't ID's started off with some brain-farts against weaker opponents? |

From the games that I've seen, any team can beat the other on any given night. As proven by the scores so far. Many nights they don't make sense. With that said, even though this sends a sour taste in mouth every time a mention this team, the Huskies CAN be the unbeatable team IF they get their sh*t together. I really hope they don't and take a sh*t kicking. They deserve it. |

The week that was…(Wed to Sun)
With the top 4 teams (Eagles, Tigers, Huskies & Icedogs) staying in their positions, that can’t be said for rest of the teams. Only 2pts separate 5th and 11th position. Doesn’t seem like any of these teams can put a winning streak together and move up into the top four.
Eagles---Show that they are still the top team. Close hard fought games with the Icedogs
and the Brave, but still come out with 3 out of a possible 4pts.
Tigers---Had the misfortune of having to play the Huskies (who we all knew were going
to take out their anger on someone). We’ll see if the Tigers can bounce back this week.
Huskies---After 2 lopsided losses to the Icedogs & Eagles, they come back and
bury the Tigers 9-2.
Icedogs---Put up a good fight against the Eagles (2-1 loss) and were full marks for coming back and soundly beating the Rangers (4-1)
Rangers---This team was well rested and should have been ready to play a big game against the Icedogs, A win would have moved them into 4th, but they fell flat on their face. Better start looking behind them.
Braves---Gut check game against the Eagles (2-2 tie). They passed and are breathing the down the Rangers back.
Sharks---3-0 win against the Canucks has them in the thick of thing.
Royals---4-2 win over the Lightning had them on roll, but (4-1) loss to the Toros
will keep them in the pack.
Panthers---did not play
Jets---7-2 win over the Hornets keep them in the hunt.
Stars---A loss to the Canucks (4-0) not going to help you get a playoff spot.
Lightning---Fading fast…………………..

The week ahead…..13 games scheduled in this wild division.
The 5th place Rangers are only 2pts ahead of the 11th place Jets,
with 5 teams tied between them. First let’s look at our top 4 rankings,
#1-Eagles—undisputed #1
#2- Icedogs—still deserving of this spot.
#3- Huskies—must show more before they can move up
#4-Tigers—need a big week to stay ranked
At the door tiring to get in---Braves
Let’s look at this weeks games,
Eagles---On tap Hornets. Light week with only 1 game. 2pts all
but assured.
Tigers---On the tap Toros and Braves. The Toros will be no push over and
game against the Braves could determine nest weeks rankings.
Huskies---on tap Braves and Canucks. Will find the going difficult against
the Braves and should have no problems with the Canucks.
Icedogs---on tap Royals. Early meeting saw the Icedogs beat the Royals
7-3, should be about the same.
Rangers---on tap Jets and North Stars. Could fall right out the picture with
a couple of losses here. This team has trouble scoring goals, will need some
this week if they expect to get any wins.
Braves—on tap Huskies and Tigers. Big week for this team. A couple of wins
here will get them a top 4 ranking. Like the Rangers, this team also
has trouble scoring. Need to break out soon, maybe this week?
Sharks—on tap Toros. A win a must here, but it won’t be easy.
Royals—on tap Icedogs. Will have to bring their “A” game here to have a chance.
Jets—on tap Rangers and Toros. A chance here to move up in the standings. Rangers don’t score much and Toros won’t be a push over. 2 wins here very possible.
North Stars—on tap Rangers. Still in the hunt, but they need to put some kind of winning
streak together.
Lightning---on tap Canucks. Underachieving team. Will fall off the radar with a loss here.

Huskies should look to the Eagles as to what class is. Oh yah, Eagles signed AAA castoff from Rebels to an 'A' card because their roster is full and have him come up as a call up so they wouldn't have to cut anyone(chicken coach) and to top it off gave him a free ride. Hope the rest of the Eagle AA parents know that, because I'm one who does. |
|
Anonymous Coward (no login) | Re: Rank the highNo score for this post | November 25 2009, 7:34 PM |
Well you don't know much. Eagles have great team chemistry and play the game hard every night. Eagles use A call ups all the time. Where do you think their replacements come from when they lose players to AAA. How many Huskies went AAA after last season? The two teams are vastly different. The Eagles are bunch of no names that came from A. The huskies a collection of super stars that have had their issues this year. With the players they have they should take the division in a walk. Time will tell if they will turn it around. Wonder if the coach has any more surprises for his team. |

Hate to agree with 7:34 but I will
We dont like losing to them but they are the template for success in the "G"
Fast, physical and good puck movement
Anyone notice there are no A's or C on this team - there is a reason
Couple more to AAA though and that will be it for the A boys

I find it funny that the only team to come on here and whine about the Eagles is the last place Hornets team. DO your kids a favor and take them to a team-level where they have sucess. Hornets are last place for a reason. Quit whining about teams that beat your team solidly. Look at the scores. THe loss was due to the way your team plays. Not the refs, not 2 Eagles players you choose to name. |

No team better go on a 3 game skid, could take you right out of the picture.
Standings are way too close for a team to all flat. This season is showing that the AA loop has tightened up. Every game on the line on any given night. Good job boys keep it going throughout the rest of the season And, give yourselves a pat on the back for a season so far well played. |

Statsman (no login) | The Week That WasNo score for this post | November 30 2009, 6:48 AM |
The week that was (Mon to Sun)
The week started with 2 points separating 5th and 11th spots. The gap
has started to widen. Teams with hope of finishing high in
the standings are now looking at a dog fight to make the playoffs.
Eagles----as expected beat the Hornets (8-0) soundly
Huskies---Hard fought win over the Braves (1-0) and
and win over the Canucks (5-2) has this team back on track.
Tigers---Not impressive in their tie (3-3) against the Toros and
lost close game (3-2) to the Braves. This team seems to be
going in the wrong direction. (AGAIN)
Icedogs---Win their only game over the Royals (5-4) to
stay in the top four.
Rangers---Good week with wins over the Jets (5-0) and Stars (3-2)
has this team up with the big boys. (BUT FOR HOW LONG)
Braves---Tough games this week lost to the Huskies (1-0), but came
back with a great effort to beat the falling Tigers (3-2). Hanging tough.
Sharks---One step forward and one step back. Win over the Toros (3-1) and
then drop one to the Panthers.
Panthers---One step back and then one step forward. Loss to the Terriers (5-4)
WOW!! but come back to beat the sharks (4-1), Go figure!
Jets---Pick a bad time to stop scoring (5-0) to the Rangers and (6-1) to
the Toros. Ugly week!!!!
Stars---Loss to the Rangers (2-1) has this team going in the wrong direction
Playoff spot not looking possible at this point.
Lightning---Win over the Canuck (4-1) was really needed, but will
have to put some kind of winning streak together SOON!!

Stasman (no login) | The Week AheadNo score for this post | November 30 2009, 1:37 PM |
The week ahead…..13 games for this week, with some big games
that will affect the standings. We start as always with our
top 4 rankings. New look this week…..
#1-Eagles----will remain here until they are beaten convincingly
#2-Hsukies---showed enough to move up.
#3-Icedogs—light week and were not impressive in their win
#4-Rangers—make their first visit in the top 4 with
their 2 wins and the Tigers free falling.
Eagles---on tap Stars. Wining ways will continue
Huskies—on tap Hornets & Terriers. Easy week will
allow them to keep on rolling.
Tigers---on tap Panthers. This team in a funk right now
and will be in tough against the Panthers. Slide might just
continue.
Icedogs—on tap Lightning & North Stars. This team has problems with
lower ranked teams, 2 wins a must here to stay ranked.
Rangers---on tap Panthers & Royals. 2 big games here that will have
a big effect on the standings. Bet on low scoring tight games.
Braves---on tap Jets & Sharks. A couple wins here and they will
distance themself from the lower half and move into the upper
half. Need to pick up the scoring.
Sharks---on tap Braves. No excuses, only game this week, must come
prepared to beat the Braves.
Panthers---on tap Tigers & Rangers, Big week for this team. Time to
make a move up, potential is there, time to prove they belong.
Jets—on tap Braves. Pretender or contender?
Stars---on tap Eagles & Icedogs. Talk about going into the fire. Lose
both here and playoff spot all but gone.
Lightning—on tap Icedogs & Canucks. A couple wins here and will
stay in the playoff picture. A split not good enough.
