Call the coaches and see who's still looking. East teams I called HC, GP,WBH and MI still have openings.
HVS, VR and Vp also.

Not true. My son went to GPR skate 1st day. Only 4 players showed up and we quickly ran from there. We then called the Flames and told us they only had 1 spot open for Sundays skate while the Hawks and NT team was full after Saturdays. We then went to HC who only had 7 players show up so I took my son to the Islanders A team. They will be the best A team. Better to play there than a low end AA team.

So, we have 3 teams in the East, I hope everyone enjoys travelling to Mississauga on regular basis.
At least you won't have to go to Streetsville, that's one Mississauga team down.
This is a joke, only east team that will have a chance against the west is the Flames.

Sure they are. It's ok to tell yourself that if it makes you feel better about your son's decision not to compete at a high level.

Most AA coaches aren't signing weak players for the sake of filling spots. They're waiting for fall-out from AAA. And if that doesn't happen, you'll see AA teams fold. At the end of the day, AA will still be at a higher skill level than A.

not sure how braves or northstars can hope to fill a team? clearly there was something wrong there with the coaches if 10+ kids on each team left for their final year of hockey?

I think you'll find that more teams experienced a lot of player turnover this year. Combination of free agency and the age. Doesn't mean there were issues on the team or the coaches were bad. But it certainly brings more accountability to the table for the coaches and the decisions they make throughout the year.

Heard North stars want to dump a goalie hoping to gat AAA cut, and along with the other signings expecting to win west

The North Stars couldn't win the 'West' with the entire U.S. Calvary behind them. The twit that wrote this was obviously not at their try-outs. The few players that did attend would have trouble making any serious 'A' team. The North Stars are a symbol of the malaise that is affecting the entire 95 AA Midget division: too few quality players to sustain the existing number of teams. Either a lot of teams will have to fold or the quality will be so diminished that several teams will be "AA" in name only. Before you sign, make sure the team your joining is not a repeat of last years Ice Dogs, Jets or Aces. Unless of course you enjoy watching Johnny's team lose 30 or more games.

While I agree with a lot of what 7:06 has to say, I think the outcome of there being fewer teams next year will be a more competitive division. There are definitely going to be some strong teams - which I suspect will be WML, ST, MT, HH, HVS, VR, LF, NT. Others will likely be weaker TR, MN, VP, GP, MI, HC.

This is certainly a weird year given the age of the boys and the one year card. On top of that is the stupid way they've got the Jr A, AAA teams holding onto unsigned players until the fall.

Some of the better AA and AAA players are going to the new and improoved under 21. It will soon be called Jr B. That is the master plan. Other players are considering Jr C and even Jr D. Quebec is another option as well as well as the USHL and GMHL.

Many teams are still looking. In the 95 age AA group, except for several teams, almost all teams have spots open. As several posters have suggested, call the coaches to see if, or how many, players they need.

As many posters here have suggested, why guess and listen to the rumour mill. Just call the coaches of the teams you are interested in and see if they have any openings. This is not brain surgery.

I don't think any teams are full.

While I believe the Terriers and West Mall are full, I think that you are correct that most other AA teams have a few spots. As the summer progresses and it becomes clearer which AA teams will not be icing a team, the spots on the remaining teams will slowly fill up with players who are late AAA cuts and with the players that 'migrate' from 'folded' AA teams.
