Hi everybody, I'm new to this and have found your messages really encouraging and informative. I'm 39 and have had 3 miscarriages this year. I had my FSH tested last December before my husband and I started trying and it was 11.8, which my doctor told me was normal. It wasn't until we went to a specialist in Sept. after mc #3 that we were told that FSH was the likely culprit. The specialist also ordered more tests, most of which were coming back normal, so we were prepared to start IVF this month. A week before I was supposed to start the stim drugs a blood test came back showing I have blood clotting issues because of elevated plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1). The doctor cancelled the IVF and put me on Glucophage and 2x daily injections of Lovenox.
We were so excited to find out that this may have been our problem that caused the mcs and thrilled that we didn't have to do the IVF. I also felt relieved to think that my eggs were okay afterall. Last week I had my day 3 FSH tested just to see if it had gone down (I've been doing accupuncture and herbs) and totally freaked out on Friday to learn that it had gone up to 21.9. The weird thing is my estradiol level went down, it was 44 last year and now is down to 14.
Does anyone have any idea what all of this means? Has anyone else tested positive for PAI?
