Hello,
I just created a website called http://dummiesguidetolacrosse.com. It is a website that pretty much tries to explain every aspect of the game, including: how to play, what every position does, and basically how everything else works and tips on how to do it. I would greatly appreciate everyone to check it out, lead some feedback on this forum or shoot me an email at jacob@dummiesguidetolacrosse.com, or if your interesting in helping people learn more about the game, tell me how you could help me make the website better or write an article that will be approve then applied to the site.
Thanks,
Jacob

Thank You Linda Hurren
I tried to go on the "other forum", and they want to know all about my personal stuff, bank account, age, what time I get up in the morning. Only kidding. I like this format better as you can scroll up or down, everything is on one page, you don't have to select a topic and try and figure out which one you want. There is a reason the Unofficial forums are a success, and that is because they are easy to navigate without going in and out of various topic groups. Anyway Go Sr Lakers Go. Good win last night in Brampton.
I am glad you agree. Now, how do we get people back on here.
Might as well start with my comments on last nights game.
At one point the Lakers were up 8-1. It almost seemed like they got a little cocky and backed off. You can't do that with the talent on Brampton. But I sure am glad the Lakers pulled it off. I am not sure if it was last year or the year before, the series was like this one, with both teams winning on the road.
I too find this forum easier to follow. I was starting to think everyone disappeared from here though.
Good Luck in Game 3 guys! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the trip up to Brampton the other day but was sooooooo happy to hear that you guys were able to come out with the win. Sounds like O'Toole stood on his head, he had over 50 shots according to the stats. Here's hoping that we get a big win at home tomorrow night. Should be a good loud crowd back at the Memorial Centre. Take it to 'em boys!!
GO LAKERS!

I will keep this forum up and running so that people are able to read the old posts. You can also feel free to use it to post and find scores from the local lacrosse teams: Peterborough Lakers, Junior Lakers, Norwood Nitro or minor lacrosse.
I personally don't see a problem with keeping this fourm open.... there are plenty of unoffical team sites out there, the Peterborough Lakes are by no means the first to have one.
This is a place where us lax fans like to come and talk so why don't you just man your forum and stop having such a big problem with this one. If anyone wants to go to yours they will, you posted what the link is a number of time... so please let us discuss our lacrosse without having you write a reply to the post saying this is not an offical site.... we know... and we don't care...
Attention all Laker Fan Forum members and readers. Please make note that this is no longer the official Peterborough Lakers Fan Forum. There has been a new fan forum created. On this new forum we hope that you will find it easier to navigate and follow current topics.
We hope you all enjoy the new Lakers fan forum and please bookmark this new address into your favorites.

For anyone that held on to their ticket stubs from the first Six Nations game..... Don't worry about it.
The Memorial Centre is not honoring Ted Higgins' word that all retained ticket stubs could be used for future regular season games. I don't think that anyone could have misinterpreted Ted's pregame speech as we all sat in the stands and waited for two hours but apparently I did.
I was under the impression that if you needed to leave (because it was late) then you were to take your stub down then and they would exchange it for a future game. Unfortunately I wasn't in the stands during Ted's announcement but this is what I was told.
Ted walked to center floor and stated that everyone should hang on to their tickets stubs. Said something to the extent of "Peterborough has the best fans.....he appreciated our patience.......and in apprectiation for our patience all ticket stubs should be kept and could be exchanged for a ticket at a later date." (during the regular season)
Debeers,
I just wanted to chime in on this matter because I am nosey and like to add my thoughts.
My father went to the Mem Centre to exchange his ticket for a ticket for ST Regis tomorrow night. They gave him the ticket at no cost. There wasn't any problem either.
My suggestion is that you call Ted to clarify (number in the phone book) or go back to the Mem Centre (or call) and tell them the situation and that other have got their ticket stubs changed into new tickets.
Good Luck in getting new tickets
Go Lakers Go
My Father went down to the Memorial Centre today......07/04/2007 and attempted to gain a ticket with a stub and was told that the stubs would not be honored for tickets. He ended up buying tickets for the remaining games for the season for my Mother. My family knows Ted, I have no problem calling him. Just offering a heads up to fans that may waste time going down....it must have ended yesturday.
Went down to Mem Centre and exchanged 3 tickets without any problems. Maybe there is a cut off date but I don't remember hearing that in Teddy's announcement. I would try again.
Krista...the links for the Jr. A Lakers and Norwood Nitros aren't working (looks like there's one too many http's in the link). Also im not sure if it's just my computer and monitor but when i try to click on the links I have a hard time getting the mouse in the exact spot to click the link, is it possible to make the whole word the link instead of the one space?
Me,
It could just be your computer I dont know for sure but I do know that the whole words are the link so not sure what to suggest.
I will try to fix the links.
The Peterborough Lakers sponsored by Doughty Masonry lost in St. Regis Tuesday night 11-6. The Lakers were extremely short-staffed as a number of players couldn't make the trip up to St. Regis which is near Cornwall.
Scoring for the Lakers was Ryan Sharp with two, Mat Giles, Dan Carey, Brian Croswell and Corey Vitarelli all with singles.
Lakers were without Chris White, Kyle Laverty, John Grant, Tracy Kelusky, Scott Evans, Darryl Gibson. Claire Donnelly, Darryl Welsh and Matt Currie from the Norwood Nitro played for the Lakers
I read in 2 locations in the wedsite, that there is alot of talk about how the Lakers were without key players for the game as some couldn't travel to Akwasasne. Other teams have traveled, will travel and continue to travel several hours during the season to play in Peterborough during the work week. After the Lakers unforunate lose yesterday I hope the come away with some appreication for all the teams that travel during the week to play them here.
Teams don't travel that far to come to Peterborough. Six Nations would be the furthest, other than Akwesasne. Which would have teams leaving around 4pm for an 8pm game......asking to get off work at 4 is a far cry from asking to get off work at 1 or 2 to make a mid-week trip. I don't think it was necessarily the length of the trip that many of the lakers were out of the lineup anyways...I dont think grant has been at many midweek games since he is living in rochester....i believe kelusky wasn't expected back from out west yet...chris white had been married and was away...kyle laverty was suspended.......so that only leaves a few that could have possibly missed b/c of the length of the trip.
Plus I dn't think anyone was complaining were they? Just noting that the lakers did not have their regular lineup (as a lot of teams woudln't having to leave that early mid-week).
It would be a waste of time and money to use the video screen. This is because in the lacrosse season the screen is raised up so that Pat can throw his long bombs and not get interfered with. Only the people who sit in the ends could see the screen. anywhere else you are obstructed by the ceiling.
At least on the club side.
