They need to go with the same lineup as last night, that is a much faster lineup with Shawn & Steve Evans & Sorensen, then it is with Panos & Phair, the Rocks just cant keep up with the lineup we had last night.

shawn deserves to stay in the lineup

shawn will likely sit out nobody nows who is actually playing anymore whith the exception of grant because some players that arent in the lineup still warmup wich to me is very odd and i dont see the point of warming up for a game you arent playing.I hope they stick whith the same line up which includes shawn because he seemed to spark the lakers big outburst on cosmo.

Great fans

by Baggy

I went out of my way tonight to stop to talk to some great Vic Fans, who came to Peterborough to follow their Rocks. We had a great conversation.

What interested me, was that they were a mirror reflection of the interest my wife and I had when we were in Victoria a year ago as Laker fans.

Let me encourage all Laker fans, to go out of their way to express their kindness and hospitality for visiting Shamrock fans. I know what it feels like when someone came up to my wife and I and shared a few kind words.

I also know the hurt I felt when Laker fans at the games in Victoria encountered abuse and a nasty reception.

Fans are fans. And when you see a Shamrock fan at our games........you also see yourself, if you had the opportunity to go west to cheer for our guys.

Listen.......it is the noodleheads, who disgrace the sport and disgrace our country, and our city, who insult our guest fans.

Come on Peterborough....lets show our class!

Why are the Lakers Winning?

by Baggy

The number one reason the Lakers are so far up on the Shamrocks, is because of their penalty killing unit.

Sure....John Grant and Scott Evans are great goal scorers. And, they have produced and done magic game in game out.

But, from my perspective, the Lakers dominance on penalty killing has totally wiped out the Shamrocks' power play. And I mean totally.

Before tonights game, the Rocks had scored about 10% on power play opportunities. The Lakers were over 30%.
Does that tell you something?

I can't even imagine what the percentages are after tonights game.

When you look at the defensive lineup......look at Scott Self.

Dan Carey, has done a great job at ragging the ball through the series on the man down situation, and scoring goals at the other end of the floor on offence.

Tonight, we saw Jamie Batley demonstrate his understanding of player contributions. Tonight we saw him insert Shawn Evans into the lineup. Shawn Evans, not only has the wheels, but he also has intensity and heart. Within five minutes, Shawn had connected with his first goal.

Tonight we saw the Lakers strike hard and fast and they were eo unrelenting that the Rocks couldn't find their legs.

The Victoria Shamrocks

by Doogie

I have to give the Shamrocks alot of credit after tonight's game. My son is a goalie and a fan of goalies. He was looking for a good time to ask Anthony Cosmo for an autograph. One would think that tonight would not be that night. Dan Dawson was in the hallway and was very gracious when asked for an autograph. He took an interest in my boy and took the time to talk a bit before going into the room. One of the training staff then came out of the room and saw him standing outside of the tunnel and asked him if he could help him with something. My son explained himself and gave him a ball. He came back with the signatures of all three goalies. It speaks well to the professionalism of the franchise and it's players. Yes they had a hard game and a tough loss but they looked past that and made a kid feel very special tonight.

Another Cosmo story ...

by Anonymous

A 12 yr old boy I coach, who is also a goalie, has Anthony Cosmo's girl friend as a teacher. He asked her if she would mind asking him to autograph his ball for him. A few weeks later he was called to the office over the PA system. Wondering what kind of trouble he was in, he went to office only to find Cosmo there to autograph his ball for him in person! After a 10 minute talk, Cosmo asked my goalie if he would autograph "his" ball.

so if no one cares about nationals until junior, why does Ontario keep hosting them ? tell that to the thousands of kids that play lacrosse that the Nationals don't count? My son was heartbroken when he didn't make the provincial squad, to him and his teammates it does count!!

A round in boxing (and they aren't even punching the whole time)doesn't last five minutes because NOBODY has the stamina to throw punches for that long.

Dan's the Man

by Baggy

From my humble seat in the arena...it seems to me that the MVP rises above himself and excels in such a way that inspires others.

I concur with GLG, that Carey's role on PK, has been awesome. The Lakers have literally shut down the Rocks power play.

When you add that to his offensive skills....you have a lethal one two vote!

Home Town Boys!

by Dr_Fever

One quick question .......... how many home town boys play for the "Rocks"? THAT will be the difference in the end .......... the Boro boys and theirs friends will prevail. Nobody said it was going to be a cakewalk. Victoria is a very good team. They wouldn't be here if they weren't, but I think that we are still the better team, and if we keep this group together, they will go out west next year for the repeat.

They are excellent in the community and I'm proud to have them wearing the Green. No matter who wins, it is excellent lacrosse.

Could someone please take out COSMO!

by Anonymous

All that guy does is whine and constantly find away to come over to the bench and for what, I have no idea! Why the hell did the ref let the Victoria team away with faking that they were going to change goalies - had King look like he was going out and then never even changed it up! That should have been a delay of game! COSMO needs an ass whipin!

I also think it is time to drop the gloves Laverty/Crosswell or Steve Evans! The amount of penatlies the refs are handing out for BS reasons's, you might as well make it worth it! The crowd will get soooooooooooo pumped if this was to happen! At least if you fight, your taking a Victoria player with you and won't be playing short handed! The fans need to see some action!

Let's go Lakers and kick some ass tonight!

Re: Could someone please take out COSMO!

Take out Cosmo? I guess you mean to take him out to dinner. He has been the story of the series so far, apart from the crappy, biased officials. Cosmo has made 148 saves in three games, O'toole 109. Wow, small minds might say, the Lakers a really taking it to the Shamrocks. Small minds should look deeper. The bozos in black have been terrible. Boro has reaped the benefit of the bad decisions. 27 Boro power plays, to just 19 for the Shamrocks. That accounts for a lot of extra shots. 9 power play goals for the home team accounts for a 2 game to 1 lead in the series. Why the H would anyone in the Boro cry about the refs? They are trying their best to give you the series.

This is funny

by Baggy

Laker fans were complaining during the MLS final series about the same referee's tilting the scales in Brampton's favour.

And...to my western friends on here, I was at the Mann Cup games last year in Victoria and...it goes without saying that the referees were totally impartial?

Victoria has the option, to bring a WLA referee east with them.

Teams get the penalties referees see.

Most players I have spoken to, simply accept penalties as part of the flow of the game.

From wha tI see, most fans, watch one team play lacrosse.
