You can get think fly in shops - they were at the New Forest Show last year - not sure if they be there this year though - if you can not wait long - you can get it on their website - is secure payment website - under Brinicombe - just google and put the necessary terms in - should come up.

I am using Think Fly at present - and would not say totally eradicate flies with my pony but about 90% of them. My pony and somebody else at yard loves the supplement and very edible for the horses/ponies.

Beginning of year the company that makes the Think range are in research stage of a supplement for crab flies - whether they now have it for sale at present not sure. You could ask them - they will send you an attachment about it.

We use think mud and swear by it, however we found think fly ineffective and found garlic granules better happy.gif

I was browsing eBay and came across this, might be useful for the ponies who dislike crab flies, was about £30 alot cheaper than the crusader version.

Think Fly

June 24 2009, 5:49 PM

I was using the think fly product for my 2 sweet itch ponies... i actually didn't think it was doing any good as they still had fly's around them etc... so i stopped using it a few days ago..
Que both ponies starting to rub a lot worse... i'm put them back on it today.. and if the itching eases off again.. i'll be convinced.

I was told (rightly or wrongly!) that it took quite a few weeks to build up in a pony's system (four of five weeks?)before it had a positive affect?

Think Fly

All of my horses have been on it for about 6 weeks now. I have noticed a huge reduction in the amount of flies that bother us out riding, and also in the number of bites on them.
My friend who recommended it to me said that ideally you start them in Feb and keep going until the autumn/first frosts. Mine are so much better despite starting late in the season.

Ride on Fly rug

June 26 2009, 1:24 PM

I know that crusader do one which is quite a lot more, but basically I was searching on ebay might even put "ride on fly rug" in search engine on eBay, have a look if you cant find it I will have another look, it was about £30. Also shires do an exercise sheet version but that only covers the hind quarters.

The lady said on the advert that she uses it on hers and found it very good.

think fly

this product has to be fed to animal at the begining of the season to be effective and like humans it does not suit all types.
