Anyone show spotties?!

Hoping someone can shed some light.

I am hoping to take my spotted foal to his first show in August. It's a 'American Pleasure Horse Show' and I am thinking of doing the Foreign Breed Youngstock and/or Spotted class.

Does anyone know how the pony, and myself! Needs to be presented. I've had a look on the schedule but have no idea whether he needs to be plaited/not plaited or what sort of head gear he needs to wear! Etc.

If anyone can help I'd be most grateful!

Spotties

July 4 2009, 9:14 AM

Hi, I have been to that show several times. I was in the miniature classes though. My spotty won the 2006 BSpPS Nat Champ up to 14.2hh. All of the ponies there were "au naturel" but tidy - if you know what I mean. Certainly Tiptop had her mane and tail natural length but tidy. Her heels were clean of long hair. I hope that helps. Go on the BSpPS society website, there are lots of pictures of shows there. Is it a horse or a pony? If a horse then no idea - sorry! Hope that helps a bit.

Sorry haven't been on for a few days. Thank you for the replies. Aud - that has really helped. I also went last year to spectate but can't for the life of me remember how they were presented. I'll check out that website as well. He'll be classed a pony, he's currently 12.3ish but supposed to make 14.2/14.3hh. Don't know if that makes any difference?!

Shaza he is Appaloosa x New Forest. Don't really know if he'd be considered a riding horse type, I'm not to clear on the definitions etc! But here's a picture..
