Whilst i've fed garlic for years i've now stopped feeding the garlic granules.. Badger has severe sweet itch and is very sensitive to... everything! lol Including garlic.. makes him itch more... i then noticed when i took the rest of the garlic that it was seeming to make several others itch more...

It is quite well known that garlic can make a sweet itch pony worse as was someone else who told me coz of my boy... but i don't know why it was making a select few a bit itchy as well...

I havent heard about it being toxic but it has been known to aggravate their stomachs. Like hawkeye I also have a pony with severe sweet itch who was terribly itchy and irritable, she hasnt had garlic for years now and is so much better.

Well, I guess if garlic is a member of the onion family, and onions can be toxic, i guess in large enough quantities, garlic could be too!
