I had to call the vet out to my mare today as i noticed there was something wrong with her breathing. vet came out checked her heart and lungs and her temperature (much to her disgust, she pretty much sat on him!) and after a while of thinking vet told me it's an infection somewhere in her chest, gave her some powdered anti biotics and said to call back if no improvement. my problem is how im going to get her to eat it, she is a fussy feeder. is there anything you can suggest to get her to eat her feed with medication in it? any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
We use butterscotch flavour Angels Delight in a syringe with the meds, it may need 2 syringes but goes down without a fuss.
Good luck.

Saw some things at a trde fair i belive Scats do the range of hanging licks from the same company unfortunatly as they are American they hve unfortunate names of Uncle jimmiy's squeezy buns and uncle Jimmiy's hanging balls the squeezy buns are all natural coarse mix and mollases sp that have a hole in the middle that you can hide meds in and squeeze the top over if Scats dont do them and you want some pm me. They worked a treat with one of our ponies who needed antibiotics.
Strawberry milkshake in a syringe - it'll make your arms all sticky, but it is easy to dissolve the powder and most horses I've come across seem to like synthetic strawberry flavour!!
