Anyone know of a good cost effective to suppliment to aid the affects of arthritis in an old cob i have?
She has recently been lame but is sound now and want to help her

I can recommend both Cortaflex and NAF Superflex. Not cheap though. Adding oil to their feed can also help with keeping joints supple.

Yes i agree with using cortaflex my 20yr old cob is going great on it .

I did some research about 1.5 years ago on some different joint supplement ranges - see below on rough cost per day - my scoop sizes and cost per day were based on a 13.3 pony.

As you can see they all vary in how much in grams MSM, Chondrotin and Glucosamine are in their products (not all include MSM). The superflex appears superior to cortaflex where the superflex has a much larger amount of the ingredients compared to Cortaflex. I currently use Think Sound within the Think range that you can order online by Brinicombe - quick service.

However, you have to decide what you want in a joint supplement. Some companies bulk up their products with bulking agents. Good luck with it all and hope you find the right product for you.
