help!!!

I went to clip my horse yesterday ready for a competition on sunday and quarter through the clip the clippers were still running ok but no hair would come off kara with them!!! I had used them once and year ago so thought the reason is that the blades must be blunt even tho they were the ceramic ones, so today I put on brand new blades but after about 5 mins the same thing happened, they are still running great, battery is fine but they wont remove any hair!!!

I have one side upto her quarters done and a few strokes out the middle of one side of her quarters and she looks ridiculous and im competing on sunday!!! help!!!

my clippers are the mosler avalon cordless ones.

What do I do, no one at the yard has any, Ive looked online and cant find anyone who does clipping service (I live in aldershot)

I can get to a tack shop but do you think the only solution is to buy new clippers? Im worried if i was to get new blades the same thing would happen again

the thing is thats puzzling me is why they arnt clipping anymore when the blades are brand new, shes clean, not got a particually greasy coat and being a warmblood her coats not long coat.

am very grateful for any help or sugestions - I'm in a total panic!!!

There have been quite a few threads about those clippers in the past. Use the search function on this forum and type in 'moser avalon' (without the quotes).

Don't panic there is probably nothing wrong with them but you haven't pushed the blades in tight enough.

I have the exact same model and when you put the blades in you think they are in when they actually haven't clicked in properly.

You will hear the difference too when they are in properly, when they are new they are very tight and they do need some pushing and shoving!

They are great clippers once you get the hang of the pushing and shoving though!

I brought these clippers last year and cldnt get them to work sent them back twice and they found no fault with them or my blades. Tried them again last week and they werent working so got hubby to have a look and i hadnt been clipping the blade on properly, have to clip them in and make sure they click and he also clicked the white release button to make sure they were n correctly. The sound difference is amazing when they are in correct. Where abouts are you if you want me to have a look and check they are in correct give me a shout.

It sounds as though the blades aren't in properly.

The only other suggestion is to get them serviced, but would definately check that the blades are in correctly first.
