I used to be a lurker last year and it,s took me along time to register as i never had a pc, i would lurk on my mobile then had to stop because of the need to register to even do my lurking. Last year it was a busy forum with lots of different people posting , now that i can join in everyone seems to have gone. Where are you all ?. I can leave the forum for days and there might of been only a few posts put on so it,s hard to reply when you feel alone. : (
I assume that you mean the general chat forum which was the one that you had to be a member to see? The general chat forum was removed in July for several reasons & membership problems that we just couldn't get around. In the end it was getting the site a very bad name & definitely doing more harm than good.
All the other forums are running as before & although quieter than the old chat forum are still very useful & on topic for an equestrian site.
The original chat forum was added when we had complaints about non horsey chat on here, but then it took over & got used for everything, making the equine forums much quieter.
There was a couple of spin of forums set up when the chat forum was removed, which has taken away a lot fun along with all the hassle. It's a great shame really because so much of the equestrian chat was absolutely fine & could, or still can be continued on the remaining forums rather than being split across other sites, but we were left with no choice.
Most of the old members still look in regularly & continue to support the site & forums & there are also a lot of new members who, although not such prolific writers are a wealth of information but were put off from using the forums in the past.
The NFED was always intended as an equestrian information site & if you post a question on any of the forums, they are still very well read (visitor numbers havent dropped at all) & you will normally get an answer very quickly.
Proof I dropped in for a nosey, and thanks to a wanted ad on NFED I moved yards this weekend (well OK, the ponies have moved in, but I haven't quite finished moving OUT of the old place yet...)
