As I have said before in recent reviews, the fact that a manufacturer includes extensive multi-media parts in the box (in the case of the targeted DML kit, photo-etched brass), ought not prevent an after-market manufacturer from introducing a set for that kit. Obviously, Eduard subscribes to that philosophy hence this latest set for the recent DML 2cm FlaK38.


Aside from a plethora of tiny clamps, hinges and brackets, there are several larger items, some of which either replace or enhance kit assemblies. For instance, there are three 2cm ammo cans that feature separate lids, clasps and carry handles; these are the bulkier, rectangular-shaped types. There is also a pair of the smaller ammo cans that would hold a pair of 2cm magazines in the “ready” configuration. These also include all new mounting brackets for the inner wheel well sides of the Sonderanhänger limber.


Parts for the gun include details for the receiver as well as parts to replicate the perforated flash suppressor at the bore end of the 2cm piece. The ribbed tray seen on the gun mount that holds ready magazines is also provided as is parts to brace the shield section that elevates with the gun tube. A completely new shield for the gunner’s head and sight is also provided, which includes mount and hinges. Finally, the gunner’s foot rests and traverse lock pedal are also provided.


This set will add even more finesse to an already fine kit. This is especially important with models of ordnance, as they have more to them than usually meets the eye
