A selection of models from the many in my collection, mostly 1/72 scale, but occasionally featuring larger (and smaller!) scales too. The Mossie doing that low-level beat-up in the above picture is the Tamiya 1/72 Mk VI - a lovely kit to build and to look at. The thought that went into the production of this kit in terms of precision and positive fit of all parts must surely give even the novice modeller a good chance of making a very attractive model from it. I don't foresee any other company eclipsing Tamiya's Mosquitoes for many years.

Airfix 1/48 and 1/72 Hurricanes . . .

Frog 1/72 Miles Master III. This model is the result of as much photographic reference material as I could lay my hands on and close scrutiny of all shapes and detail as could be seen. To say that the basic kit is inaccurate is an understatement! This was in a lot of ways almost a complete re-build in the process, but very satisfying in the end and I'm more than pleased with the result. All the same, I won't be building another one in the foreseeable future!

Another kit that had an awful lot of work done to it in the building process was this Pegasus 1/72 Defiant TT Mk I. Anyone familiar with it will know what I mean by saying it gives you the very basic of raw materials to work with - approximate shapes and that's about it. Again, close scrutiny of many published photographs was a big help in turning out as accurate model as possible. It still isn't 'right on the money', but it's a far cry from the unpromising bag of bits it came as!

This is MPM's Wellington Mk Ic, a kit that I find rather hard to recommend, unfortunately. Accurate it is not, and it was a right cow of a job fix problems and, indeed, just to build it. I think I'll be checking out Trumpeter's Wellington kits in future. Still, this one hasn't come up too badly in spite of a few things I'm not happy with.

The P47 is one of my all-time favourite, so there have been plenty of them built over the years. Here are a few of them, the above example being the old Hasegawa !/72 kit.

Revell 1/72 . . .

That's probably far too many for now! There are plenty more models here at my place, most of them photographed like these examples, so if you want to see more . . . just say so!

To post an image of your models, you will first need to find somewhere to host your photos on the Internet. Your ISP will often give you a limited amount of free web storage, and other online photo storage is also available.

To post a link or an image, simply type in the URL (web address) of the destination page or image. The URL will appear as a link (for an HTML link) or an image (if you link direct to a .jpg file) when posted. You can use the Preview facility to see how your message looks before posting to Plastic Pix.

Please try to keep image sizes to 800 pixels wide or less, as larger sizes will be too big to fit on many computer screens. Also, file sizes should be kept to around 100kb or less, otherwise download may be very slow.
