I finally overcame my little obstacle... The nose markings...
Sorry Jeff, now I think I'm almost totally plagurizing your work...
But I couldn't leave that big, honking nose bare...I used some very old F-4E Phantom spares I had for the sharkmouth... I was really sweating, thinking that they'd crack, and shatter on me when I put them in the water. Luckily, they only tore a little, and i was able to 'float' them back together.
It took 4 decals total to get the mouth finished, and then I still had to touch up, and fill in some of the gaps. I used Polly Scale, and Model Master Acrylics with a fine brush for the touch ups...
I used the decals from the Revell of Germany AD-1 Skyraider decals for the tail/squadron markings... They are by far the worst I've used to date. But I think, in true Marine fashion, I improvised, adapted, and overcame!
The Future is drying as we speak, so next will be the weathering, chipping, and general wear. I still have to add the wing walk ways, and dull coat it...
I'm really happy with her so far!
Stand by... More to follow.

We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army.
On the seventh day while God rested, we overran his perimeter, stole the globe, and we've been running the whole show ever since.
