From Tamiya Lanc MK-III in 1/48 scale modified to a Lanc MK 10 DC, painted with Silver # 11 from Humbrol. The Ryan KDA-4 Firebee drones are scrachtbuilt. This is a an old model built in 1997.

Modifications are like this. I removed all armament and radar, closed all turret machine gun slots, added some antennas under and on top of the fuselage and scrachtbuilt the drones using as base components fuel tanks in 1/32 scale from an old Revell F-15 model and plastic sheets. I made two pylons under the wings to carry the drones..

History:
In the end of the fifties(1957), the RCAF started a new training program for fighter pilot at Cold Lake Alberta ; they modified two canadian built Lancasters MK 10, PX-851 serial number KB-851 and PX-848 serial number KB-848 to carry Ryan's KDA-4 Firebee drones. Both aircraft belonged to the Central Experiment Proving Establishment/ Air Armament Detachment CEPE/AAED based at Cold Lake. The training program had a short life ending it's activities early in the sixties(1961).

To post an image of your models, you will first need to find somewhere to host your photos on the Internet. Your ISP will often give you a limited amount of free web storage, and other online photo storage is also available.

To post a link or an image, simply type in the URL (web address) of the destination page or image. The URL will appear as a link (for an HTML link) or an image (if you link direct to a .jpg file) when posted. You can use the Preview facility to see how your message looks before posting to Plastic Pix.

Please try to keep image sizes to 800 pixels wide or less, as larger sizes will be too big to fit on many computer screens. Also, file sizes should be kept to around 100kb or less, otherwise download may be very slow.
