Response to There is evidence that the nose strut was indeed Chromate Yellow

I found your Artiste on Modeling Madness before I had begun my project. I used your model as a great reference as well as photo's, Squadron's Walk Around, and I made the trip down to Dayton to see Bocks Car for myself and photo.

Your build was excellent and the mating of the canopy to the fuselage was as good as I have seen.

Since I posted these pics of Enola Gay, I basically have stripped every decal but the stars and bars off as they will be replaced with newer decals that I was able to obtain since I posted this thread. Also I had some scratches in the Alclad that I have decided to repair before the Region 4 IPMS show.

I'm not sure my pics show some of my issues with my canopy but a few weeks before I was complete I dropped it right on the nose and shattered the canopy and had to replace them both. I took the lazy way out and did it without trying to destroy the scribing and rivet work. I have since decided to knock it back off, clean up the seams and reattach and then will rescrib and rivet as necessary.

As far as the front strut that pic of Bock's Car at the reunion, I have never seen. I may tweek that as well!!

Very humbly I was able to pull out a 2nd place at our local IPMS show this last weekend and I am even more motivated to do better with it. After final repair and such newer pics will be up and my goal is to take it to the nationals as well.

Take Care Lee and thank you for your input!!

Ken

To post an image of your models, you will first need to find somewhere to host your photos on the Internet. Your ISP will often give you a limited amount of free web storage, and other online photo storage is also available.

To post a link or an image, simply type in the URL (web address) of the destination page or image. The URL will appear as a link (for an HTML link) or an image (if you link direct to a .jpg file) when posted. You can use the Preview facility to see how your message looks before posting to Plastic Pix.

Please try to keep image sizes to 800 pixels wide or less, as larger sizes will be too big to fit on many computer screens. Also, file sizes should be kept to around 100kb or less, otherwise download may be very slow.
