Progressing along. Shot the white yesterday morning. Previous to that I painted the tail and horiz stabs 16440 and the radome and "canoe" 36440. My "formula" for getting a nice white finish is first hitting it with a coat of Floquil Reefer White. After it dries I rub it down with a old cotton t-shirt to take away that "roughness" of the flat coat. Then I hit it with very thin coats (2-3) of Model Master "Classic White". Gives you a nice hard smooth white finish.
I'll let it dry a few days and mask off for the 16440 lower fuselage and wings.

I'd probably build more P-3s were it not for the props...painting them is time consuming, lots of masking. But the end result is worth it if you do it right. For this particular one, I just have to hit the tips red, that is the current standard for the Navy P-3/EP-3 and C-130 aircraft. No more white/red/white...that was a lot of masking!

Still need to mask and hit the tips red.
