I have been forced to shelf temporarily several of my projects as I have a few commission builds to do. The Raidens in 1 48th scale and 1 144th as well as wifes Grand Fathers B-17 have had to be pushed aside,,,,,,,, : ( But will be picking them up here and there over next few months.
I started the Wingnuts Junkers J-1 last Sunday. First off,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, WOW,,,,,what an impressive kit !!!!!!!!! The best these eyes have ever seen !!!!! By far !!!! THe packaging, the crisp detail, the instruction booklet, the decals, the attention to detail is remarkable. CUDO's WIngnut Model's,,,, You have set the standard !!!!!
I have completed the cockpit. And again,,,what a fantastic, fun build this is shaping up tp be...everything went together perfectly. Few pieces took a little fidgeting,,,but I believe had I took a lil more time to think things out,,and do some simple dry fitting in simple situations,,I could have averted a few very minor " uncomfortable moments "
THese pics were taken with a flash,,still don't have my lighting problems settled yet. In natural light,,the shading is much more subtle,,and a nicer effect,,,,,,,,, : )
I start the engine tommorow,,,,,,,,, Comments, critiques always welcome,,,thanx for sneaking a peak,,,,,, : )
This is comming along fantastic to say the least!! Love your subtle weathering esp. on the seats !! Someone is going to gett a museum quality model !!!!
I think the lighting is fine. And, you're off to a really great start. The more I see of these Wingnuts kits being built the more I'm inclined to buy one.
trust me,,, in natural lighting the aircraft looks much better. and the weathering is much more subtle. the flash washes out the color,,but leaves the weathering,,it really loos very different
It' s great to get commission work and be able to do it, however when it's all you end up doing and none of your own stuff, it can loose it's gloss after a while. When you do commission work remember to find the right balance and not subject yourself to unrealistic deadlines. Enjoy, it can be a lot of fun and rewarding and I'm glad it's keeping you busy. You never know where it might lead you...........................Hollywood...................LOL
